I'd get my parents a Nest thermostat. They're the type to cut off the AC/heat when they're going to be out of the house for a while. I work at Amazon. We have this little box man robot thing that we use internally as sort of a mascot. After a quick google search, I found out that it is actually a character from a manga called Danbo, and a lot of renditions of him use amazon boxes (specifically, amazon.co,jp boxes, but nevermind)

Originally when I built my PC (early 2013) I had a Phenom II x4. I soon found out racing sims with a lot of AI doesn't run terribly well on it. Recently popped in an FX 6350; still not the best, but better.

I'm actually in the run for this because my roomie has been wanting a gaming computer, and she doesn't have a whole lot of room for a desktop rig, and this would be just perfect.
