So I'd bought an EVGA GTX 1060 SC 3GB for ~$197 near the end of last year.  Was planning to hang onto it for a few years, but...

  • Should I consider selling it? (& maybe get a profit, or would it being 3GB hamper its value?)
  • Or, mine with it? (If so I'd want to go easy on the settings to not shorten the card's life - for example not let it get above 60-70°C, undervolt by 0.1-0.2V maybe, use <85-95% TDP watts, etc, while mining.)
  • Or continue with status-quo? (Basic use, some occasional gaming, rendering, etc; have never folded but maybe I should consider it, since a few of my friends have cancer & other things...)

If I don't sell it soon™, I'd be keeping it for at least a few years I think, turning down settings/expectations as it ages.

If I did sell, my laptop has a 970M that would get me by, and I also did get by on the HD 4600 before I put the 1060 in my desktop.

I'd just continue with the status quo. You won't really profit from it, I can easily get the same card for $200 CDN ($160 USD). You'd likely have to take a loss or break even.
