  3. I replaced the default little antenna that came with the wireless card with a bigger one. I constantly have 5 bars. I can't really get more technical than that unfortunately
  4. It's only a couple of months old. I only moved to this place at the start of the year and they sent me a new one when I transferred the address for my service Edit: it is the standard one they send everyone. It's nothing special
  5. They do keep saying the connection is fine on their end. I guess I'll have to see if I can get a new router. Thanks for the help
  6. I'm not able to due to the layout of my house, but I figured that wasn't the issue since I can connect to the other modem which is in the exact same spot 100% of the time.
  7. Hi guys, first time I've been on the site since 2013. Got some good nostalgia going through old stuff Anyway, I've been having weird issues with my internet and my ISP is adamant that the connection is fine and it's something wrong with my computer. I don't believe them. At random points in the night, on random days, my connection from my computer to the modem (wifi) will drop out completely. I have a hefty antenna attached to my wireless card so I've got a solid connection. It doesn't matter what I do to my PC, it won't allow me to reconnect to the network until I restart the modem. I have another connection on a much slower speed plan that I can still connect to though that is unaffected. Both modems are in the same spot. One tech support guy I talked to reckoned it was my microwave causing the issues, despite it not being touched at all during the dropouts... Please send help... Thanks
