  1. If I go blue team shouldn't I go for a newer generation?
  2. Any idea which ryzen would be the best pair for my GPU? I only use my build for gaming and I know intel is still generally better on single core, but I'm considering going ryzen to help support competition ( I also love to see an enormous number of cores working on my screen
  3. Thanks for the answer. Budget is not a problem, but I dont like to waste money. I only want to play on 1080p so it will not be necessary to go extreme high end. I was considering a ryzen. I like to overclock my hardware so I will have to Google a bit about which rysen will be the best for my build. I also have a corsair H110, so I need to check compatibilities as well.
  4. Hi, My build had a GTX 780 paired with a i5-4670k. I play in a 1080p 144hz monitor and my intent is to play always with the best FPS possible. Having said this, I started playing Kingdome come deliverance and the performance was really not great. At least I like to play at 60 fps minimum. So I found a good deal on a Zodiac 1070ti extreme amp and I overlocked to 2100mhz. Also I overclocked the CPU to 4.5 which gave me a score of 664 CB on cinebench. However while playing KCD the CPU is bottlenecking completely ( always 100%) where the GPU normally keeps in 50% of load and FPS are still not what I required to be happy I knew the game was heavy on the CPu but I had some faith on my 4670k. Whick CPU do you guys think I should buy for gaming on a 1080p 144hz monitor? Thanks [EDIT] - So after some research what I found was (with CPU prices ) 4790K or 4770K - I keep my mobo and 16 Gb of ram but the performance boost will be minimum when compared to 4670K. Also to expensive for me. (200 euros .... ye Portugal market sucks on used parts) i5-8600K - Maybe the best deal (gaming), faster than all ryzen CPU in many games. But I'm concerned a bit with longevity, it seems video games are using more cores each year, and 6 core don't seems much compared with competition in the long run. Also I would have to buy a new mobo with a socket that would not be compatible in my next upgrade (265 euros) Ryzen 5 2600 - the 8600k destroys on gaming (170euros) Ryzen 7 2700X - Slightly worse that 8600K on many games, but 1) More cores, more longevity?! 2) AMD will support the socket until 2020 3) Mobo+Ram cheaper?(not sure on this one yet). (360 euros) Ryzen 7 2700 - Price is much lower (280 euros) than previous. Should overclock to the same level than 2700X? Or should I just wait for ryzen zen 2? Thanks
  5. Watching the last video from Linus, was expecting to see something about if disabling touch screen helps with battery saving on a laptop. Anyone knows if it is true?
  6. " basically, if you can afford it without having it impact your gpu budget, then buy the k processor " RGT, this is your answer!
  7. Thank you for replying 1. Yes that's it. Forget the one account thing. But additionally ( I didn't mentioned on the original post)), I would like to link the server to a vpn service to get a different IP. So it would be like: 8 houses -> community server -> vpn service -> Safety and netflix I have a connection with 215 mbs download and 23 mbs upload. Do I still need two boxes? ( You mean two computers right?) Concerning the setups you mentioned, can you point me to the right direction on each one? Thanks
  8. Hi all. I'm a complete noob in terms of servers and vpn. Please be patient I have been digging for answers over google about this but there is so much information that I am a bit lost. I have an idea for a project: Create a server, in a pc running linux, for my friends community. We are essentially gamers but the server would let us: Have access to a vpn connection -> basically anyone that can connect to that machine will be able to use our vpn connection to surf the web safely. 8 houses with the same vpn account... I'm dreaming right? Use the server like a dropbox account for everyone. Use it has a game server for many games. Host mumble and other platforms used by everyone. Can I create something like this? How can I do it? Any tips will be appreciated. Thank you
  9. Thank you all for the feedback. If I am able to lower the 780 price I will think about it. If not I will wait.
  10. Hi Have one gtx 780 oc already and I can buy another one for around 300€. I also have the PC fully prepared for SLI. I dont need the extra power right now, but Im wondering if I should upgrade like this for future games like Star Citizen or VR. I could wait for the next generations cards with HBM... but 300€ seems a good deal. What do you guys think?
  11. I was thinking in buying a Bekant electric desk from IKEA. I live in Portugal and IKEA seems the only company who can deliver the best desk on a quality/price ratio. Did anyone tried this product? For me will be 530€.
