  1. So, I've been using my dual U2515H from Dell for a while now, and I've been thinking about ultrawide for along time now. I want to get rid of the bezel, for one. Two, I need to downsize the space I'm taking up. Two screens is too wide for my purposes, and I can't set my PC on my desk. What's the best ultrawide for sub $1000 USD? I've looked at Dell and LG, but can't decide which one to get. This will mostly be used for gaming, watching movies, and possible video editing. Thanks!
  2. Threadripper has too many cores for my needs
  3. That's what I want to do, it's just that my external storage devices are Thunderbolt
  4. Oh. I guess I'm pretty out of the loop haha
  5. Previously this year, I upgraded to a 1080Ti, and now it's time for a CPU upgrade. I currently have a 4790k, and it's served me well. But, I need more cores. I also need thunderbolt. And this is my issue. I don't want to drop $1200 on an Intel x299/x99 system just so I can have more cores and thunderbolt. This is where I look at AMD, where I can spend only $700 for more cores. I'm trying to decide between the i9-7920X and the R7-1700. I'd love to keep the budget low, but I don't know that I can get thunderbolt in an AMD system.
  6. I guess this is the right place to post this. Since It's about my motherboard. So, I'm currently rocking an Asus Sabertooth z97 MK1. Well, I want to use thunderbolt devices. I heard about the Thunderbolt EX II and tried to find it, but today it's out of stock everywhere (even ebay!). So my next question is, can the Thunderbolt EX 3 work on a z97 board? I'm not planning to run my display through it, only to have a TB3 hub/Nas/etc connected to my computer. Also, what exactly is the TB_Header on the board used for? If it's just a cross-talk with the GPU for a display output, I shouldn't have an issue just running it without that connected right?
  7. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Karokiyu/saved/LVYnQ7 I think that would be the best config then.
  8. G4620 or I3-7100? Also, He wants the Node 202 so it can be similar in size to his xbox. I know the Nano S is small, but the HTPC form factor is what he is looking for.
  9. Well, having that the case he wants does not have 3.5" HDD support, (unless i mod the GPU area) I think a 1TB Hitachi is plenty
  10. I still may want to include a hard drive, just for mass storage. He will also be using this PC to backup his iPhone and such. So there's 100GB wasted.
  11. I ike that config. That Dual core should hold up for a while.
  12. He needs to use Word. Chromebooks will not work.
