Don't worry, it's fixed. It turns out that when I downloaded the ROM, the download was corrupted and some of the WiFi files were broken . I redownloaded it and it worked fine. Thanks for your help though, appreciate it!
Everything installs like it should. Phone is hTC_asia version, unlocked. The ROM was built on top of hTC_asia, too. I'm considering trying to S-OFF and then try again? Don't know if S-OFF affects anything though
Definitely the right ROM. Other people have had the same issue, and this ROM was specifically build for A5_UL.
I've found that some people don't have any issues with WiFi, and others do.
I hope some of you are experienced Android users, because you won't understand if you aren't.
So I just flashed a custom ROM onto my HTC Desire 816 A5_UL. Everything works fine except WiFi. The option is completely greyed out in settings.
I thought it might be a kernel or firmware problem? CM12 has worked in the past for me. Every other ROM i've tried flashing has no WiFi.
Any help will be much appreciated.
I've done it on my 5S. It is a little risky if you aren't careful, and there's a chance you will destroy the backlight. Also, it took a while for me to find a seller for the lighting kit.
Depends what you'll be doing. It it's professional CS:GO, hell yeah, that will take you weeks to adjust. If it's just for everyday use, then it doesn't really make a difference.
Well for $30-40, you won't get a mechanical keyboard. The CM Storm Devestator's keyboard is actually decent, but it's membrane. However, the mouse is totally garbage and feels incredibly cheap.
