  1. Trust me haha, I wish I didn't need a laptop since I could totally see myself getting a nice computer with a 3600 and 1660 ti, but I do need a laptop since although I'll be using it at home a lot, I also go to friends houses sometimes and carrying a desktop and monitor with me isn't ideal. What are your thoughts on the laptop I linked to in my original post?
  2. I'm in the market for a new gaming laptop. Here's what I want: ~15 inch screen GTX 1660 would be nice, but 1650 is okay i5 or R5/better RAM and storage doesnt matter as long as there's expansion slots (Already have 16gb of laptop memory) Right now, the best option I can find is this laptop from Acer. Ideally I'd like to find better graphics, but that's probably not possible with this budget. What are your thoughts on the computer I linked?
  3. I mean, he made it very clear it was sponsored... It literally says "sponsored by rainway" a few seconds into the video
  4. Hi, I'm planning to move my computer in a different room from my router, so I'd like a solution to still keep it connected over Ethernet. While powerline seems like a decent solution, I have gigabit internet, and I've heard powerline drastically reduces speeds that high. MoCA on the other hand seems like it wouldn't affect my speeds that much and therefore it would be a good solution, but there's a lot of stuff I don't understand about it. First of all, my ISP supplied modem from Comcast seems to have MoCA built into it. Does this mean I don't need an adapter for that side? Also, I've read that I might need a filter, and I'm not sure if this goes on all coax connections or just the one. While I'm at it, it would be nice to get Ethernet over to my TV area, since the wifi isn't very strong there, but I actually need coax as well for the cable box. Does this mean I need a splitter? So, I have my modem which will (supposedly) work for MoCA, and I might also need a filter for it. Then I have my computer in another room, where I think I just need a MoCA to Ethernet adapter. Then finally I have my TV area, where I might need a coax splitter AND MoCA adapter to get both Ethernet and cable. Am I correct in my assumptions based off my limited knowledge? I drew up a diagram too, so let me know if there's something wrong with it. Thanks!
  5. Ok so this seems like an amazing deal and I might get it. Any thoughts? https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/lenovo-legion-y7000-81ld0009us-gaming-pc/8x0m9f3v7h38/3nmh?activetab=pivot%3aoverviewtab Definitely weighs more than I want and is also quite a bit thicker than I want too, but it has very good specs for the price
  6. I'm from the US. As far as games go, I play mostly Fortnite, Overwatch, Apex, and a few others. As far as battery life goes, it isn't too important as long as it can last ~3 or more hours under a light-medium load.
  7. I'm looking to get a new laptop for ~$700 or less, which obviously limits things but I want to try to find the best laptop for the price. I'm mainly planning to use this for some light gaming, as well as programming on the go, in addition to the usual web browsing, word processing, etc. My must haves are: 8gb RAM (16gb would be very nice if possible, if not upgradeability would be good) At least 1080p display (touchscreen would be nice, don't care too much about colors, but I definitely don't want a TN panel as viewing angles are important) SSD or SSD+HDD for storage (at least 256gb individually or combined) Definitely would rather not have integrated graphics 15 inch or less display Less than 5lb Currently I was actually looking at this laptop as it seemed like a good deal, but that was only after some super basic research and I'm open to any other suggestions.
  8. Yeah, no clue why that's in my recommended I know it says ad, but I think the terms "Review" and "Ad" don't work in the same sentence/title.
  9. So, when I was just scrolling through my recommended on YouTube, I saw an ad from LTT saying "OnePlus 6T Review". I clicked on it since I was just curious as I had never seen an LTT video as an ad before, and it turns out that the so called "Review" was just a sponsored video of OnePlus's under display fingerprint. Now, I don't really know if this was LTT or OnePlus who did this, but I'm a little disappointed in the misleading ad title. The actual video title is fine, but this video certainly wasn't a review and I think that it's wrong to position this video as that.
  10. Hi there, for a while now, we have been using our ISP supplied modem/router combo which is absolute garbage and I'm looking for a new solution. My ISP is Comcast and we have a 400Mbsp plan. My house is about 3000 sqft with two floors, and unfortunately our router is in the corner of the house, which doesn't make for a great WiFi connection. It would be nice to have Ethernet on the other side of the house, and I've heard of some solutions for that (powerline, moca) but I know that they can be problematic as well. I also know about mesh networking, but I looked into some options with that and they seem super expensive. Ok, I know that was a lot of stuff (I ramble on a lot) but basically it would be nice to have good wifi coverage throughout the house for under $300, and if that's not possible, at least a solution to get Ethernet to the other side of the house, like powerline or moca (I've heard mixed things about them, I'm just not sure if those solutions are any good at all). Also, sorry if I didn't give enough information, I'll try to answer any questions you may have to help out.
  11. Hi, I'm looking for a gaming monitor that meets this criteria: G-Sync 1440p or higher 144HZ or higher Preferably IPS though I could live with TN if need be Under $600 USD (can't go any higher than this) What is the best monitor out there that meets my criteria?
  12. I see 2017 Corsair CXM gray units on the list, but what about the old CXM gray units like the CX550M? I don't see those anywhere.
  13. Don't get an i5. If he is really just playing minecraft, a G4560 will do great
  14. When I clone the disk, then for some reason it just boots back up to my old drive. And YES, I am booting from my new drive, but when I select my new drive in the boot menu, it still boots from the old drive. Is this something with the way windows is configured?
  15. Is there a way to move my windows installation to another drive, while keeping all my programs and files? I am moving from a 120 GB ssd to a 250 GB ssd, so I want to know how to move everything to that. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
  16. Ok. I am seeing the other responses are saying +10 at a time, so I might this. So if I set the power limit higher, I will most likely get better performance? I know I won't get a whole lot of performance overclocking, especially on this card, but I am just curious. I'm pretty dumb when it comes to overclocking, but not THAT dumb. Don't worry, I wont try that Thanks for the info! Thanks for the info! However, it doesn't matter since core voltage is greyed out on MSI afterburner. I assume 1050 ti cannot do that.
  17. So, recently I bought a 1050 ti.. Now, I know this card does not have very many knobs to turn when it comes to overclocking, but I still would like to do as much as I can. My GPU model is GV-N105TWF2OC-4GD, and it has a pretty beefy cooler considering that it is a 1050 ti. When I open up MSI afterburner, I can change the power limit up to 125, the temp limit up to 97, the core clock up to +1000, and the memory clock up to +1000. When I looked at the overclocking database on this forum, there were no entries for any 1050 ti. I am very new to GPU overclocking, so does anyone have any suggestions for how I can do this?
  18. Well, not partitions on other drive, but on my boot drive, yes.
  19. Any ideas without wiping my system? It would be extremely tedious to reinstall and move all my sh*t...
  20. Basically, Windows 10 will not update to Anniversary Edition. I have tried every method that I can think of, including the built in updater in settings, the windows media creation tool, the windows 10 upgrade tool, yea.... It refuses to update. I always get some kind of an error message. Microsoft support isn't helping me at all, the people there just keep trying things that don't work. Any suggestions for how I can get the freaking anniversary edition on my computer?
  21. Oh, that makes sense. Well, thanks for the great guide!
