  1. Ok I’ve decided if it’s a new device to get the ASUS ROG g531gu with 1660ti, but a second hand deal is just popped up for a Laptop ASUS GL704GV - FHD IPS 144Hz (17") with an RTX 2060 for about the same price as the model of the g531gu I’ve decided to get. The only difference is that with the g531gu I’m getting 1TBs ssd and 1TB SSHD, with the gl704gv I’m getting only 256gb SSD and an 8th gen i7, as well as 4 less months of warranty (2 years in my country). Should I go for the brand new g531gu with 1660ti and a lot more storage or the gl704gv and save up money for storage in the future (as well as buy a new backpack since mine is 15”)?
  2. Since I’m barely using my Desktop PC I’m going to be selling it and buying a gaming laptop to use at work and home. I’ve decided that a 1660ti is going to be enough for me and I’ve stopped at those two laptops. The Lenovo I can get with i5 9300H with 16gb RAM for about 300euro cheaper, but it has only the 60HZ display. While the Asus has a 144HZ display, i7 9750H and 32GB RAM. I like the look of the ROG a lot more, but I’m not sure if it’s worth the extra money for those few features. I’m leaning towards the Asus, because from what I’ve seen it might have better cooling. There is also the Helios 300 for about the same price as the Asus. I’m looking for people that have had those laptops and can share their experience with the cooling, software and performance.
  3. I recently purchased a second hand Asus ROG gl702vs with a gtx1070. The laptop is great, but the temperatures were a bit too high for me, so I undervolted both the CPU and GPU (I have tested both extensively and they are both stable). Now I did undervolt the 1070, but that meant changing the curve on the card. The whole laptop is running much better, but I'm scared that the frequency curve is basically an Overclock? Before the GPU was running at 1400mhz in most places, ramping up to 1600-1700 and then going back down. After the curve edit in a lot of games, it basically stays at the max I've set (1809mhz at 850v). I'm guessing that's because the temperatures have dropped significantly, but is it dangerous for the GPU to be running so high? According to Notebookcheck the card MHz should be 1443 - 1645 (Boost) MHz, should I lower it? ps. Also, I'm pretty sure when I made the curve, it was 1797 MHz but now it's 1809MHz, is that normal for it to change like that?
  4. I recently bought a new laptop, but I'm having an audio problem with it. Any audio is delayed by about 1-3 seconds when played. An example is when I play YouTube video, the video is already playing, but the audio is just not playing for the first 1-3 seconds. This problem is not only on a specific browser or site, since I've tried it on both Firefox and Edge, and the same problem is on Spotify and Netflix. I'm running on Windows 10 Home with the latest updates, I have installed the latest drivers as well through the HP Support Assistant. I had the problem before and after installing Realtek audio drivers. It happens on different headphones and on the laptop speakers. This laptop also has some specific "drivers?" for its speakers (Bang & Olufsen). The problem also appears when I pause the YouTube video as well and resume it. I don't think it's internet related since I have the problem on both my work and home Wi-Fi. I'm running Windows 10 Home 64bit. System specs for my HP Envy 13-ah0016nn Intel Core i5-8250U (1.60/3.40 GHz, 6 M) 8gb RAM LPDDR3 2133 MHz NVIDIA MX150 2 GB GDDR5 512GB M.2 NVMe SSD
  5. After some thinking, I decided I will be ordering the Acer Swift 3. The Xiaomis have been ruled out since I read some bad customer reviews about the shops that are offering them in my country, and as you said the UX430UN has a cooling issue. That pretty much leaves me with the Swift 3. Thank you all for the help!
  6. It's a bit on the heavy side coming at 2.5kg, but it is indeed very nice and comes with a 3 year warranty. I'm definitely considering it. But the only problem is the same as all the other Gaming oriented laptops, I'm not sure if the battery life will be any good. Having a 3-4 hour battery(for light usage) is not really good for me. I would like at least 6 hours battery and preferably 8-10 hours (on light usage/coding and light programs). That's the reason why I'm more oriented towards laptops with discreet GPUs and bigger batteries.
  7. I'm going to list the ones I've been looking at that are withing my price range and are sold in my country: Lenovo 320/330/520 Acer Aspire 5 Dell Vostro (it's with AMD R5 M420X, I'm not sure where this card ranks) HP Pavilion 15 HP Envy x360 Asus Vivobook Pro 17 Asus Zenbook UX430UN Acer Swift 3 Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air Laptops with more powerful GPUs (1050/TI/1060), but I'm not sure if the Battery will last and some of them are with 7th gen Intel CPUs: Acer Aspire 7 Lenovo Legion Asus Vivobook Pro with 1050 GTX Asus TUF Gaming Dell Inspiron 15 Acer Nitro 5 Asus FX503 HP Gaming Pavilion 15
  8. Unfortunately the whole XPS line is 2-3 time it's normal price. Even the cheapest XPS laptop is somewhere around 1600 euro.
  9. Hello everyone I'm looking for a thin and light laptop that I will be learning to code on. I'm looking for a laptop that is below or close to 2kg weight (I will be carrying it with me daily), has SSD, is with Geforce 150MX or another card that can play some light games (like Darkest Dungeon,Divinity Original Sin 2 and other turn based games), at least 8gb RAM and it's preferable to have 8th gen(I would consider 7th gen if it's a great deal) i5 or i7 4 core or more CPU (or AMD equivalent), as well as at least 6-8 hour battery life on light usage. I have found a retail shop that sells and gives warranty to XIAOMI Mi Notebook Pro for 1000$ and the 16gb RAM version for 1200$, so I've been looking at that as a primary candidate, but I would like to consider other laptops and possibly lower price. I'm looking for general suggestions of laptop models near the same price, as I do live in Bulgaria and prefer to buy from a local retail or online shop (since they are required to give me 2 year warranty and no import or shipping fees). Unfortunately some popular choices around that price range are just not imported in my country or have insane prices like the Dell XPS line that for some reason has 2-3 times it's normal retail price. Another laptop manufacturer I can't even consider is MSI, since for some stupid reason MSI only imports their heavy (and most of the time expensive) gaming laptops in my country.
  10. Small, compact and looks cool as hell !
  11. I would like the keyboard since my keyboard is the worst 5$ 10 year old keyboard you have ever seen :D, some keys are barely working.
  12. Oh god how much I would love to change my old 5$ keyboard and mouse and my terrible headset . I hope the RNG gods are on my side :3 !
