I thought of getting a LG 29UM67 (2560x1080), but I'm wondering if my graphic card(GT 740M, yes a laptop) would support it. http://www.geforce.com/hardware/notebook-gpus/geforce-gt-740m/specifications Tried looking over there, not sure what does HDMI-yes mean. (any resolution is fine?)

Also, any suggestions on 25/27/29" 21:9 monitor? lg-29UM67-P and lg-25UM57-P is what I have in mind right now.

Looks like 21:9 is the way to go for a 1-monitor set-up. Is 25" 21:9 really that short? By the way, thanks guys.

Sweet. That's basically my normal day too. I did think that the horizontal space is perfect for (vertical) split screen coding. I'm just worried that 21:9 on 25" will be weird.

Pretty mainstream, 2560x1080(21:9) versus 2560x1440(16:9) ~ 25" (I'm on an ultra-tight budget, HAHA) Why exactly is 21:9 not as suitable for productivity, or rather, what do people think of those 2, and would recommend for readability? (ie programming/whatever). Enlighten me, people. Peace.

Hey peeps, Anyone has any experience with AOC's monitors? Was digging around and found: AOC I2777FQ 27" Widescreen IPS AOC I2757FH 27" Widescreen IPS LED Any thoughts (aren't they essentially the same?) / recommendation for monitors around that price range? Looking for something >= 27", hooking up to my laptop. Peace.
