  1. I thought I needed SSN or Proof of American ID to buy those... Can I just like put any billing address? Do I need one ? Sorry, Prepaid Visas are a distant concept for me
  2. Hello! I put this into off-topic because I believe it is a very niche problem... So basically, I live in Brazil and have come to the USA for about a mouth and I was looking to get a Valve Index Headset (assuming it comes back to stock) while here, something that is not available in my country and even if it was the taxes would make it at least 2k (Brazil be like that...), but I have been met with a problem... Steam, unlike amazon and a bunch of other online stores, does not accept billing addresses outside the region that the account is located (I made an USA account), also the valve index isnt in any retail store and all re-sellers charge up by at least 50%, so if I cant bring myself to buying a mere 80hz Rift S I am in a pickle... (Not necessarily dissing on the Rift S, but I have someone close to me that I would like for them to experience VR but I am pretty sure she would get motion sickness as she is very pron to it) So, does anyone have a solution? either a re-seller site you know for the valve index that doesnt mark up the price that much, or like a clever way to proxy the payment like getting a prepaid credit card while here (assuming that is possible considering I am not american), or a way to make an american paypal with a friends address (or honestly a random one, I dont care) and then add cash into it via bitcoin or via paypal transfer between international paypal... Anything, I just want the index (Then again, maybe all of this is pointless if the index doesnt come back on stock before I leave). The worst is that if I had this opportunity last year before Steam Wallet was pulled this hole problem could be solved by buying 10 100$ gift cards Anyway, if you read this and dont have a clue, I at least thank you for experiencing my frustration. ?? PS: I know my LTT location says Uk, I use to live there 1.5 years ago
  3. I am on Windows 10, and I dont think I can have a VM constantly running on the background
  4. I made a topic a couple of days ago called "Networking in University" but I am making a new one because I am pretty sure what I have to do and it doesn't relate that much to that topic anymore... So I currently live on campus on a Univerity and the Uni uses 802.1x authentication for its devices, but I have some devices that I would like to connect to the internet but that dont support 802.1x authentication... What I want to do is create an entirely new private network for me where I use my computer as a router... My PC already has access to the internet, so I wanted to use my wifi card to make so I can connect devices to the internet through my PC and also connect them through ethernet if possible. Is this a thing I can do and does anyone know where I should start?
  5. Wifi would be useless for me, I need wired connections. The Phillies Bridge only works via ethernet and for the NAS even if it worked wirelessly the speeds would not be acceptable for a NAS.
  6. Hello everybody. So, at my university whatever connects to the internet has to be registered, that is when you connect your smartphone/pc to the internet either via ethernet or via wifi you have to download a software in which you put your IT credentials, some magic happens and vualá! You're connected... Thing is, I wanted to connect my hue bridge (the one for those fancy RGB lamps that you control via mobile) to the network and that obviously doesn't work as I can't do any of the credentials and software stuff... I also wanted to in the future connect a NAS server but I doubt the university would have the software for whatever version of Linux the NAS is running... That leads to my question... Is there a solution? Could I install some kind of network switch card in my computer and daisy chain "approved" internet since the software in my computer would verify the connection? This seems like a very niche problem... The intersection of the groups "University Student" and "Wants a NAS at their student halls room" is probably very small so I don't know if anyone has actually put much thought into this but you never know...
  7. This projector is awesome, and the fact that it can display those big images from short distances is even cooler
  8. Sorry Guys, I said that I was noob at this, I just thout that benchmarks would help me out, and isnt Single-Core Performance much more relevant to gaming than Multi-Core Performance?
  9. I did some comparisions at cpuboss and it seemed that i7 4790k is much batter than a 5820k (link), but the rest yeah probablly http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i7-5820K-vs-Intel-Core-i7-4790K
  10. I am planning to buy a new pc for 4k gaming, and I've always had pre-built pc so I am fairly noob at building computers, I currently own a Dell XPS 8500 and this is the pc I came up with: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/NCNqcf Yes I know... From a GeForce 640 to a dual GTX 980ti is kinda a huge step up but I am really excited to 4k. So... Is this Overkill or do I need evan more to run games at 48fps (or 60 if possible) at ultra settings?
  11. I would love to get an Autore, I thinks It's design Is simply beautifull and elegant.
