  1. I am currently on the lookout for a good gaming laptop. I have a fixed budget, but it's not very restrictive. Based on all my searching and research I have narrowed down my options to these 3 CPU-GPU-Display configurations: 1. Core i7-8750h + RTX 2060 + 1080p 60hz display 2. Core i5-8300h + RTX 2060 + 1080p 144hz display 3. Core i7-9750h + GTX 1660 ti + 1080p 144hz display All 3 have nearly identical I/O and other specs and are all similarly priced, so there's nothing else to consider. Let me know which one you guys would recommend with reasons. Also, if you have any other suggestions I'd love to hear them. Note: I am not much of a competitive online gamer. I mostly play offline games like RPGs, RTS games and some shooters.
  2. Okay. So I know this is probably impossible, but I thought I'd ask anyway. I recently bought some speakers to use with my laptop because the built in speakers aren't very good. I'm currently using them through the laptop's headphone-microphone combo jack. I'm very happy with my speakers for the most part, except for the bass. I just wanted to know if I can use my laptop's internal sub-woofer along with my external speakers, because the subwoofer in my laptop packs a pretty strong punch. If anybody has a solution to this, it would be really helpful.
  3. My computer is really slow. I could really use an ssd. I think ssd Are the future and that everyone should own them
  4. I'd really like the kova because i think it looks really cool! roccat is awesome!
  5. is the r9 290 good for 1440p gaming? how well does it do?
  6. then why do i see so many posts of people saying they overclock laptops all the time? they say they're systems are stable.
  7. Just got a new laptop that has an i7-5500u, 16 gigs of ram and a gtx 850m with 4gb vram. just wanted to know if i can overclock the cpu and gpu? i dont want to wreck my laptop. any help is appreciated.
  8. damn. ah well, i guess the power of the 290 makes up for it. thanks for all the help everyone!
  9. from watching episode 3 my prediction is this: 1. linus might win pcmark because of his ssd. 2. Austin is going to win the cinebench, since both linus and luke have the same processor and his is better. 3. Luke will win all the graphics benchmarks because he has the best gpu by far. taking price to performance into account, i think luke has the edge. conclusion: luke wins
  10. I said dedicated physx processor. i didnt mean like a crossfire. im not interested in combining power. and as for the nvidia card, I'm really not too sure. i thought maybe a gt 730 or something along those lines. nothing too powerful.
  11. ok, so i'm buying an r9 290 (actually, i BOUGHT one), and i know its a really good card. but i also really want to have physx capabilities which i know amd cards dont have. so i was wondering if i could buy a cheap nvidia card to use as a dedicated physx card while keeping the 290 as my main graphics driver. is that possible? please let me know.
