    3 meters is the max length for a copper display port cable. and I believe 5m for DVI-D. So if you just stick below those measures u should be fine.

    Have you reinstalled the GPU drivers by using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller)? And make sure the DVI/HDMI cable is connected to the GPU and not the motherboard.
