  1. For console gaming and single player i lean towards resolution. Multiplayer and PC gaming is heavily reliant on FPS.
  2. The guy is looking for a platform for his show, would floatplane be able to handle that amount of traffic?
  3. On the Samsung support forum, a few users have pointed out that one of the main selling points for the 12" amoled version is its ability to display HDR. After a few months of troubleshooting and awaiting patches, namely the mid December Windows update enabling HDR support. I've documented everything regarding their advertising as well as Verizon Wireless adverisements touting the feature on their respective splash pages for the device. The main discussion can be found below. https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/forums/v3_1/forumtopicpage/board-id/tablets/highlight/false/page/1/thread-id/8769 The moderator assigned to the thread has been quick to dismiss or dissolve the claims as plug-in or driver issues, patches and such. It would seem that the HDR they are pitching is actually just a post processing effect similar to their "adaptive color"featured on their Galaxy branded phones. He has stated he would consult with the engineering teams to get clarification on the issue. He is now stating that the HDR capability is possible via external monitor/TV, despite ad materials stating the feature is enabled on the built in Amoled panel its self.
  4. already gave that a shot. for what its worth, the monitor is displaying full sRGB which is a huge improvemet over other crappy displays, but still not close to HDR. thanks for the heads up though. its got to be the driver, i hope there is a fix soon.
  5. the 12-20 update seems to have weakened my radio, which is ironic because it was supposed to prep the phone for gigabit lte.
  6. thanks for that, i think the hdr setting is under video settings now? its indicating the device is not configured for HDR, as the option is greyed out. Above are the settings where the M$ support document tells me to look ^ (theres no mention of HDR) Below is the video playback settings v (only mention of enabling HDR)
  7. I'm new to the forums aside from FloatPlane access so Hi everyone, second, I just bought the US Galaxy book 12" lte from verizon. Im having issue getting the HDR content to display correctly. I'm almost certain its simulating HDR but not actually decoding HDR streams much less getting access to them via netflix or youtube. There is no indication that the HDR content is being accessed when looking at the video quality option on youtube. The device its self is using the "generic pnp" monitor driver. are there any HDR testing programs out there? aside from using a colorimeter, is there any way to tell? im in contact with another user on the samsung support site as well as a twitter convo i just started with samsung_mobile_us. what is the best course of action here?!?! i want to draw some attention to this and get an actual fix to unlock HDR on this device. thanks.
