  1. @TofuHaroto I maybe can build some very low end but working machine with the parts I have around. May give the GPU a shot in another system and see how it goes. After all maybe this is my PC telling me I have to upgrade to Ryzen Thanks for the reply, keep you posted if the GPU works with another Machine.
  2. Hello Guys, this will be an somewhat long story but hopefully someone is reading it and has some good advice. The main issue is that my GTX1080 does not output to Displayport after an cold boot. I have 3 monitors connected to it via HDMI, DVI and Displayport. HDMI and DVI work just fine but Displayport shows no signal after cold boot, if i restart after the cold boot the DP monitor gets picked up and works just fine. Lets move on to the symptoms and configuration i use: GPU: Gigabyte GTX1080 GV-N1080xtreme 8GD-PP CPU: i7-6700K @4,5GHz Mobo: Asrock Z170 Xtreme 6 RAM: 32 GB G-Skill Ripjaws V (4 Modules) @3200MHz SSD: Samsung 960 Pro 500GBAnd some other SSD and HDD for Storage and stuff OS: Windows 10 latest version The system did work fine for the last few years, lately I was messing around with OC and the iGPU from the i7. Did connect the outer 2 monitors (HDMI and DVI) to the iGPU. Everything worked fine and ones of a sudden the issue appeared. Now it dosent mather if I enable or disable the iGPU the DP monitor hooked up to the 1080 is not recognized after cold boot. Interesting thing is that the monitor (DP one) wakes up on cold boot but then wents back to no signal. Also back in windows MSI Afterburner for example does not recognize the GPU and shows 0 for Clockspeed and so on (only after restarting Afterburner it shows correct numbers). What I did try so far: Reinstall Windows completly Reinstall GPU driver Flash GPU BIOS Clear CMOS Revert BIOS to default Dial back any OC i had Swap DP Port on the GPU Try to restart GPU driver in Windows with STRG+Windows+Shift+B None of the above changed anything. The next things I will try now is to switch to the second BIOS chip on the Mainboard and maybe clear everything by clear CMOS and removing the BIOS Battery. Searched the Internet for possible solution and some people seem to have this issue with different GPU´s also from older series. None of the people on the internet seemed to fix it so far... Would be very thankful for any advice you have on how to maybe fix this. If you need any other information just let me know. Cheers
  3. Hey guys! I have a super weird issue... Lets start with the beginning of the story: I have a EVGA GTX 980Ti Hybrid that i sent back to EVGA because Games keep crashing with artefacts on all screens. Now since i need a card i just bought an EVGA GTX 1050Ti SC. This 1050Ti is now running for a few days, yesterday a played around with some moderate OC (100 MHz on Core and 200 MHz on VRAM) but i dialed it back because i dont need it. Card was running fine afterwards in games and so on... Today i start the PC played CS GO and BOOOOOM artefacts again and App keeps crashing. Just the same thing i had with the 980Ti. I dont want to believe anymore that is a GPU issue but everything points in this direction. My Eventlog keeps saying that the "nvlddmkm" driver is crashing and that the Event ID "13" couldnt be found in the source "nvlddmkm". So far i can find 2 Error codes: \Device\Video3 Graphics Exception: ESR 0x404490=0x80000001 \Device\Video3 Graphics Exception: MISSING_MACRO_DATA I already tried a different PCIe Slot at my Motherboard but same thing again. Also i tried unplugging Screen 2 and 3 but same thing... Dialed back the GPU and RAM OC and same thing... I have simply no idea anymore then just saying "i broke 2 EVGA cards on applying moderate OC with EVGA PrecisionX"... What i have to mention is that i already OC the 980Ti with MSI Afterburner but no issue, as soon as i started to use the EVGA tool the crashes happened... I also tried gaming a few weeks only with the IGPU from the i7 running the CPU at 4.4 GHz and had no issues at all! So do you have a answer for that? Is it a Software issue? A Hardware issue? Did i really broke both cards? My System so far: Mainboard: AsRock Z170 Extreme6 CPU: Intel Core i7 6700K @4.5 GHz 1.3V VCORE RAM: G.Slill RipJaws DDR4 4x8GB (32GB) @3200MHz (XMP) Systemdrive: NVMe Samsung SSD 950 Pro GPU: EVGA GTX 1050Ti SC No part is running hotter then 70°C under load, what should be fine i guess... Also i am using G-Sync on the Mainmonitor and have 2 additional Monitors for productivity... If there is a need to i can give you videos, systeminformation just everything you need to have but please help me to fix this issue
  4. I hope so but since even EVGA VRM blowing up with cooling the quesition seemed legit to me I am thinking if even VRM from a brand like EVGA with cooling are going up in flames i think it is highly possible that a VRM without any Airflow and Fans at all will be even more likely to get broken...
  5. Hi guys! I am looking forward to buy a Calyos Fanless PC Case (they start the kickstarter in Feb.). Within this case i will face zero Airflow cause there is not a single fan on any component. The quesition is if my 980Ti or a 1080Ti (Updgrade) will be running OK without VRM cooling. From what we know now about the Calso system it seems that only the DIE at the GPU will be cooled. Do see any problems there also with other components like RAM or Mainboard VRM? Regards Panic
  6. Pixel is sooooooooo expensdive OnePlus, Xiaomi and Huawei are more recent or the same like Pixel in regards of release Date. And regarding Andromeda, rumors say that it might launch next year (November?) and will replace Android as a whole. From what we know now it will be a mix of Android and Chrome OS to bring together Desktop and Mobile but we have to wait...
  7. EDIT: Poll not functional so please leave a comment - thx EDIT2: Added links to phone comparsion Hello Community! I am looking for a "high end" android phone for a while now and i cannot decide for myself so i thought i come here to ask you So far i discovered 5 devices that might fit my needs: Google Pixel XL - http://www.gsmarena.com/google_pixel_xl-8345.php Huawei Mate 9 Dual-SIM - http://www.gsmarena.com/huawei_mate_9-8073.php Xiaomi Mi Note 2 - http://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_mi_note_2-8014.php Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge - http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s7_edge-7945.php OnePlus 3T - http://www.gsmarena.com/oneplus_3t-8416.php Must have features: - at least 5.5 inch screen - min. 4 GB RAM - min. Android 6 Nice to have features: - dual front facing speakers - high IP rating - Dual-SIM - 6 GB RAM Performance and future proofing is Key for me. Also i really love to be at the latest and sometimes beta version to try out new features such as "Google Assistant". Now i heard of Andromeda OS and maybe i should wait for it and use my phone just another year? By the way i am using Galaxy S5 with Android 7.1 (Cyanogenmod) and an HTC One M8 Android 6.0 (Cyanogenmod) at the moment. The thing is here in Europe/Austria the Pixel XL costs 1150€ (1221$ US) Samsung and Huawei range from 600€ - 700€ (637$ - 743$ US) Huawei and OnePlus 450€ - 500€ (477$ - 530$ US). So what would you do? Please help me out! Cheers Panic
  8. Greetings from Austria! Name: Panic CPU: Core i7 6700-K @ 4.4GHz GPU: EVGA GTX 980Ti Hybrid @ 1454MHz Boost RAM: 32GB (4x8GB) DDR4 G.Skill Ripjaws @ 3200MHz Just for completeness: CPU shows up as 4 GHz because i did my OC in Windows with ASRock Tuning Utility. At BIOS and start it runs with 4 GHz It shows 4 GHz for me at every Benchmark...
  9. Hi guys, i am new to the forum but subscribed to the youtube channel long ago and now i decided to join cause of an major topic for me... But first let me introduce myself quick: I am a young guy from europe austria (so forgive bad english pls) and working at an IT-Company as Teamlead and Technical Expert. My hobbys are gaming, working at and with PC´s and driving my motorcycle. So lets go on to the quesition: I am planning a new gaming/work rig this winter. The main goal is to game on this thing but it should have the option to run multiple virtual machines on it (Oracle VB) as well. So far i am pretty sure about all my parts except the GPU... With which of the following (or maybe something else?) i will get the best overclock and FPS results: Zota GTX 980 Ti AMP! Extreme EVGA GTX 980 Ti Hybrid MSI GTX 980 Ti SeaHawk I saw all 3 of this cards going up to 1480 MHz Core and about 8 GHz RAM stable achieving all the same results. What is about accoustics and Temps? I guess the aircooled Zotac one will be the hottest but from reviews i saw that it will stay quiet at 55% fan speed... Really that choices give me a headache... Please help me out! Here is the part list: ASUS TUF Sabertooth Z170 Mark 1 Intel Core i7 6700K (wanna go to 4,7 GHz) Samsung SSD 950 Pro 512 GB (System) Samsung SSD 850 Evo 500 GB (2 of them in RAID 0 for Storage) Kingston HyperX Fury DDR4-2666 32 GB Acer Predator XB240HAbpr 24" (in the middle) BenQ RL2455HM 24" (on both sides so its an triple monitor setup) Corsair Hydro H100i GTX Corsair RM750 PSU be quiet! Silent Base 800 orange with window So my main problem is the GPU and if this is solved i would be happy if you can give me any advise on how to solve the "air pressure" issue Wanted to have positive air pressure but its very difficult because of limited fan space (noise drawback). Even worse with an Air/Water GPU cause then i have 3 fans pushing air out of the case, cause if i turn them round they would pull the hot air from the radiotar into the case ... I have a bit of love for the Zotac GPU because it looks awesome and fits the color scheme (orange/black/grey) perfect but performance/silence is also a goal here. Thanks for your help and regards Panic
