  1. I know I was going to get their 179.99 mini from Amazon but fuck that if I can get a better board for less hell yes!
  2. That Asus ROG Maximus
  3. A couple of things. First did you try re-seeding the cable? Second there are a lot of option from here that you can take. First you can download either MSI Afterburner or EVGA PrecisionX. Those programs will help you more accurately see what is going on with your cpu and gpu temps.
  4. Issues like that are very time consuming to diagnose and often times the only way to truly know is to switch out the component and see if the problem persists.
  5. Your temperatures look fine. I would go through every component in your system and pull the power cable from it and re-seed it. This is where you start when diagnosing a PC issue like this. Try that and re-post to us.
  6. Or cable related. And yes its probably power related but that doesn't narrow the problems down to a PSU or overheating. You can also get a hard restart if you have fried your motherboard or another component in your system.
  7. There are many other reasons, please don't give such a difinitive answer like that. This person is asking for help.
  8. Some interesting things have happened and been learned in this weekend with the 1070. To clarify, I was working with a Zotac tech because I was worried about a power issue hence the furnark testing. I have discussed versed after testing in Doom, GTA V, Crisis 3, Valley, Heaven, and Shadows of Mordor that at stock that card pretty much runs great. However I have pegged my problem to over clocking. Everything I apply a +100MHz overclock to the card it crashes and becomes unstable. Will be testing this more!
  9. I just switched from a Asus GTX 970 to the Zotac 1070 Amp Extreme and I gave noticed something interesting. I ran Furman on it for about 20 minutes and the GPU usage hit 100, the power usage hits 100, and the temps hot 70c. I ran a light overclock of 1950 and it all ran as expected. However, when I ran the GTA V benchmark and also played the game for about two hours the results were a different story. I'm running at 4k and everything maxed minus MSAA and my GPU for egged at 100 but my power was only running at 60% and temps sat at 60c. Is this result because GTA V isn't an intensive game for benchmarking vs benchmarking software or am I missing something all together? Thoughts?
  10. Now that I have joined where do I go to access the videos?
  11. You guys have cured my ignorance but the cure is bitter sweet in some ways. I had a different MSI skin on to naturally go better with my background and did not see the down arrow to the right of the "power limit" button. However, now I am curious and wonder what you guys can tell me. If I click prioritize power limit will that force the gpu to draw more power in lieu of getting hotter? and does unlinking them truly cut the bond between the two options?
  12. That's one of the things that maybe I am missing. I use MSi Afterburner and in this application I cannot find where to set a temp limit
  13. This is the Asus Strix GTX 970 4Gb card. I have been trying to push this card lately to experiment with over clocking. I ran 15 instances of Valley increase the clock with a 105% power. I gained SOME fps but not enough to shock me then ot occurred to me that my temps cannot get over 60c. I turned on GTA V, Whitcher 3, and Crysis 3, all in vayne a temps to push the temp higher and the card won't do it. Obviously I'm not trying to burn out my card so much as discover it's potential and weather it would benefit from me sticking a water block on it. Any guidance the LMG community can give would be appreciated. Turnip for life!
  14. WOOOO ANOTHER GIVEAWAY!!!!!!! Personally that mouse pad and those headphones look awesome. Id really love to hear those headphones....wood? Really?
