I tried both. Not happening.

Ive been trying to figure out how to convert FLV files to MP4 files for the past 2 hours. I've tried using the convert function on the VLC player and it doesnt work and everything else I've seen has asked for 10-15 dollars. There HAS to be a workaround for this somehow. I have the complete Adobe Creative Cloud suite. I just want a video that I can edit in premiere pro and its been insanely difficult so far. Anyone have any good suggestions?

No RAM ready at the moment. Was ultimately planning on a future update before the new year. Hadn't done any research or looked into any of the Ryzen products or any AMD processors for that matter. I would have to upgrade to new RAM sticks along with the new motherboard and CPU. I think the GTX 1080 I have is sufficient enough for the time being, no more than I actually game (which don't get me wrong, I do). I figured on close to $800 for the total upgrade, but I would spend more if the quality is worth the extra expenditure.

I'll listen to the argument. Not a lot of experience here. From what I understood Intel had the edge when it came to CPU intensive applications. Does AMD have a reputation for quality and performance when it comes to content creation?

I did my current build about a year ago. Went with an i7 6700k, 32gb DDR4, and a GTX 1080. It was my first build and I didn't realize how much I would be focusing on content creation and instead built for gaming. I'm looking for a serious upgrade for the CPU. I was thinking possibly a 6 core? Definitely Intel. Close to the $500-$600 US dollar range. When I'm doing my projects I'm not satisfied with my render times and I'm also absolutely pushing the Memory to its limit, often times just sitting at 30gb being used. I'd like a seriously powerful content creation processor and to double up the RAM to 64gb. Suggestions?

Just purchased a WD Blue 5400 HDD and installed it into my build. I need to initialize the disk and I'm not sure if I need to use MBR or GUID because its such a large drive. I'll just be using the drive to store my photographs and videos to work in After Effects and Premiere Pro. Won't have the OS on there. Just a little uneducated on this topic. Any help?

I've recently began compiling and editing photos and videos. My custom build has about 3TB of total storage. I have about 800gb of pictures and videos from an external drive, that I want to have backed up on my PC. I was going to install a new HDD to work with these files but I wasn't sure which type of drive to go with. I was looking into the 4TB blue and black models offered from Western Digital. Stupid question maybe, Do I need a performance drive to ensure smooth performance when editing my high quality videos with Premiere Pro, After effects, and Photoshop? I have everything backed up on externals but I didn't want to work and edit with the files destination on the external drives, it would obviously create problems. Any one experienced got some input?

So my friend asked if I could recover some old photos for him from some failed laptops. I have an old hdd encloser that Ive used multiple times to recover old hard drives. They gave me 2 identical Dell Laptops and when I plug the drives in I can see the hard drive icon appear in My PC but with no data reading (i.e. Local Disk C: 1TB of 2TB used) It simply shows up as G: with no reading of how much of it is used. When I right or left click the icon windows explorer just freezes and wont respond. This is happening on 2 separate computers. Oddly enough they gave me an older External drive they bought as well and both PCs do the same thing when they are plugged in. Ive tried multiple PCs and multiple cables all with the same response. I use a few of my own external hard drives and I tried them on both computers as well with no issues. I'm fairly competent when assessing computer issues but this has me baffled. Not sure what to do to get these files off. I also need to add that when youre responding, bear in mind that I would like to save the files on the drives. I don't really wish to "wipe" them and use them for extra drives. I just wanted to salvage what of his files I could. The only thing I can imagine that may be the issue with these is their age. They are older drives circa 2008-2010. When the PC is locked up, the very second I disconnect any of the drives from the USB port they PC unfreezes. Any help here?

Just began editing drone footage and Im growing tired of the boring USB transfer straight from the machine? Can anyone recommend a good card reader to add to one of my 5.25" bay? I've shopped around a little on Amazon and there are many negative reviews even on the best options. My motherboard is an ASUS z170s. I have 2 USB 2.0 ports on the board that are both being used at the moment and 2 USB 3.0, only one of which is being used. Suggestions? SD card reader in case my explanation wasn't clear.

That won't delete the application will it? I just want to delete the shortcut icon off of the desktop

seriously bro? I have tried right clicking and deleting. I'd hoped that would have been implied. It's like its searching for the files original destination in C: but I have downloaded it to my G: drive. I cant figure out how to change pathways.

This is driving me nuts. I'm not technologically challenged at all, definitely not an expert but every time I try and organize my desktop by getting rid of useless icons I get this error message (see photo). I obviously don't want to delete chrome but I cannot find a way to get this desktop shortcut to disappear, along with many other icons I don't want. The only thing I can think that I have done is I rerouted all content files to the Normal hard drive to save the space on the SSD. How can I do this?

I do a lot of photo editing and content creation in Photoshop. Was shopping through these and I'm reading about issues with resolution and whatnot. I'm using a GTX 1080 with a 27" 2K monitor. Which of these tablets would suit me the best. Price range 300-450 US

So I just bought this new Netgear router and I can't access the router settings on any web browser. The internet connection is working just fine. But when I type in the IP address 192.168.1.1 or even routerlogin.net I get nothing but an error message as though the internet isnt working. I can access these things on my phone and tablet. I use Kaspersky. I don't use a VPN, I don't use any proxy. I disable Kaspersky's firewall and Windows Firewall temporarily, reset the router, modem and computer and still the same result. I called netgear customer service and they had no answers for me either. I realize I can do the full customization from a tablet or phone but it's terribly inconvenient from small devices like that? I feel like I've tried about everything. I even went into Kaspersky settings and changed the network to local, still no results. Anyone dealt with this before?
