  1. The idle temps can be ambient air temp differences, for example 30-40c heat in Australia means that you cant get lower than those temps, you cant get lower than the ambient air used to cool unless you start chilling What are the temperatures when youre actually playing warzone? if its suddenly shutting down it could be power more than temps, the max temp of the 3900x is 95c and you will see throttling when you hit that, not shutdowns
  2. Good to hear, what was the cause do you know?
  3. That is true, during my degree I've used a linux vm for most coding projects besides simple python https://ubuntu.com/tutorials/tutorial-ubuntu-on-windows#1-overview FYI, this works fairly well if you just need a terminal coding experience, you can access all the files through the normal windows explorer
  4. https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html Wipe your display drivers entirely and try again
  5. ATX or mATX? see if a different pcie slot works
  6. You wont get any signal out from the motherboard as the R7 3700x has no iGpu Not sure of if the fans spin on startup for this card but I know that they stop spinning on light loads as they just dont need to again, you wont get anything without the gpu, make sure its getting enough power and youre actually plugging your cable into the gpu and not the mobo, see ifyou can change the connector type or monitor if possible It may also take a hot minute for it to retrain itself to the new hardware
  7. What games are you planning on playing? Will you be streaming? Do you need peripherals as well? New AMD chips seem to be on the horizon so it could be worth it to wait too
  8. What would you be doing with linux that you cant with windows? for a "first" gaming PC windows will be a much better experience for support and ability to game
  9. Honestly just look at tech tubers latest videos on product launches and you will learn alot as they usually compare the latest with previous generations
  10. it will only wipe your display drivers, not anything else - windows will use its default driver so you will still have a display just redownload them from https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/radeon-500-series/radeon-rx-500-series/radeon-rx-570
  11. https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html If you think its driver related download DDU and wipe your drivers Ensure you're plugged into the GPU and not your motherboard for display out, see if you can also disable your ryzen 3 3200g's integrated gpu
  12. Just because something hasnt happened before doesnt mean it cant happen at all, there could be dust in your computer causing it to overheat Windows update bug causing this would be highly unlikely. We cant really help you more until you help yourself with checking what your whole system is doing, and what game youre playing at what settings etc.
  13. Better safe than sorry, there is no shame in asking a question, you would have felt more of an idiot going ahead and buying without checking
  14. So what is your ram usage doing? It sounds like you need more ram around 90c is quite hot, use tempcheck or hw monitor to see if throttling is occuring
  15. You could be running out of ram, in my experience with games like minecraft etc where you can set the amount of ram utilisation, when it hit the maximum allocation the whole system will freeze or drop frames for a moment to recover as much memory as it can and then continue until it happens again, usually becoming more frequent over time. What are the temps youre getting when you see this happen? What game are you playing? See if you can download msi afterburner or some sort of tool to monitor cpu usage, temp, power, ram usage, gpu usage, power, gpu memory over time and see whats happening when the drops occur
  16. if you need to support the gpu some more cut up the cardboard from a toilet roll and place it under
  17. What are the resolutions for the monitors? You could be exceeding the maximum combined resolution for your gpu
  18. the windows firewall pop up really only changes access to your network, not so much aspects to an application, and highly unlikely your sound how are you getting sound through your system? is your system sending sound through display connector? what does your device say for your sound devices, have you tried a usb soundcard / updating drivers?
  19. are you actually getting connectivity, or are you just concerned about the light?
  20. could potentially be the sound compression and formats they used to keep the size as efficient as possible, as well as just generally older sound engines
  21. get HWMonitor, so you can see if youre hitting any limits
  22. if worse comes to worse, you get the smallest drill bit you can get and drill out the screw, or maybe get some super glue and your screw driver
  23. depends on what you do know if you have no idea what they do but you want to be one then that seems sort of silly, you should do your own research but, If you already know the basic things that they do, and you want to learn how to do that and basic knowledge, thats when you take courses at a university or traineeship
