  1. 4080 for 1300$ is an atrocity of a deal. I would suggest not buying a 1300$ 4080. Getting a Used 3090ti for around 650-800$ would be much better, or a 7900XT or XTX for around 750$. 4080 just is not worth it at that price, 4090 is quite a lot faster for just a bit more. But on the otherhand, a 5700x i would sit with a 3080ti/3090 as the max, as a 4090 requires the best CPU available and makes little sense otherwise.
  2. Always a good choice to get extra thermal paste and keep in somewhere you know where it is. Dont know when you may have to move and take off the heatsink for transport and have to redo it.
  3. It is not worth buying if its expensive. Thats pretty much what it comes down to, how much is it? Other then that, if its anything more then 170$, probably not worth it.
  4. https://forums.blurbusters.com/viewtopic.php?t=10204#:~:text=The XL2411Z does not support, the USB cable for power. should be on there.
  5. HDMI will not support 144hz on that monitor. You have to do a Display port To DVI-D conversion and that costs around 50$ ish. Otherwise its time for a new monitor.
  6. I wont be wrong about VR. VR has been dead in the water for years, Apple wont change that. Meta has been an awful company for years so i had 0 expectation from the start, especially when they bought the VR side. Apple will make it a part of their eco-system and make it so its not very usable outside of that. Its going to be quite some time before VR or a new tech that replaces it actually becomes worth investing in. Its always going to be quite expensive, thats just how this type of tech is. Its whether or not a company can make enough products for it that make it WORTH getting, and as it stands now it still just isnt there. When iphone came out i thought it was going to be a smashing hit, the ipod was great. When they decided to make their own chip in the m1, i thought they had a fairly good chance of doing just fine since theyve been designing their phone chips for a while. Apple has been great at certain things, but pretty abysmal at others. I dont trust them to make a substantial change to the VR space, its just not ready yet. Its going to be yet ANOTHER VR headset that will be tied to that specific eco system and it wont go very far beyond that. First few gens are going to be rough, then they will release the much improved option and then it may get more people into it, but its still going to be limited to what Apple silicon can do. Given enough time Apple if they put in as much effort into it, i could see them making quite a lot of new and useful things for VR that would be neat, but just as quickly as they can make it, they can just scrap it when its not bringing in the amount of money they thought it would.
  7. They are resounding mehs. You can get last gen cards for cheaper new, and if you buy a 2nd hand card you will vastly out perform them for the same price. Overall not worth it for now. Unless you dont have a used market around the area.
  8. hrmm Generally depends on how the cooler is designed. Can be 2-3c, can be 5+c if its really dried up. Cooler may be cheap and thin so it may not effect it nearly as much as you think.
  9. You do not need to replace the thermal pads. Anything under 85C is perfectly fine for a GPU. The temps you linked are more then fine and do not warrant replacement. The only thing you should ever have to redo is thermal paste after around 3-5 years of use.
  10. All core workloads are going to be in the 4.1-4.3 ghz, and when gaming it should be 4450, unless you do something more in bios. These cpus pretty much wont ever hit 4550 at stock, maybe for a second as soon as you boot up but besides then it doesnt get that high.
  11. If you are just using 7900XT id recommend just get a 5800x3D if your mobo supports the bios update for it. You dont really need 64 GB for gaming, even sims shouldnt utilize THAT much unless they have bad memory leaks. 64 GB should be a little bit cheaper on D4 then it is on D5. Saves you some money on a platform upgrade Other then that, 7800x3D doesnt really make sense at its 450$ price honestly, its should be a 300$ CPU, not 450+. Have you looked to see whether or not those specific games do well with an intel 13600/13700k compared to it if you had wanted a new platform?
  12. 1000W PSU is all that you need. if its about the same price sure i can see that, but 1300W isnt really needed.
  13. Core of the GPU = the actual performance of the GPU cores and the architecture. Most times that becomes an issue well before the VRAM became one, but with how 3000 series went with Ram allocation and this gen, that may not be so true anymore.
  14. the Core itself will be the issue far before you need the extra 4 GB of vram.
  15. Fans dont spin until around 60c on most GPUS nowadays, some are at 55c and few are at 50c. Some cards are always at 30% at minimum. CPU spiking happens at idle whenever you do things that move the mouse and such. If its just sitting at idle it should go beyond 50c.
  16. Sounds like either drivers crashed during a game or something else. What were you doing at the time this popped up?
  17. Honestly you dont need to run those fans at 100%. Try downloading Fan Control, and manually handle them. They shouldnt need to bo beyond 1500 RPMish hopefully.
  18. Its pretty good, but what will you be using that requires a 1300W Psu?
  19. Kind of but not really. its a 125w Card at most, so a good 2 fan design will be more then adequete. Its more about the heatsink itself rather then the fans, you can put a thin heatsink but have 3 fans and a thicker heatsink and 2 fans (Obviously design plays a huge role in this not just about thickness of heatsink) and 2 fans do better.
  20. They will straight up refuse anything when it comes to 2nd hand, they wont even offer shipping and such, such is the Zotac Warranty experience from what ive seen. Unless you buy directly from them (and even then) or you know someone on the chain, its just not happening.
  21. Sounds like you either got a messed up instructions or you did not follow the directions properly, you got the wrong waterblock for the specific model of card, or something was wrong with the card to start and only showed up after a few uses. Generally with these cards they are VERY specific waterblocks for each variation for the cards if they are non Reference. If you did get the proper card, then either something got bridged and zapped itself, or something was wrong with the card the entire time and it didnt fry itself until now and had nothing to do with you. I assume you bought the card second hand at this point, and ZOTAC does not cover warranties from 2nd hand sadly. If you did buy it with warranty, put the card back together and RMA. You could send it into one of the few very reputable repair channels on youtube that do this type of repair. Usually the better route to go, but if you are not located anywhere close to them it may be a big paper weight.
  22. Is there a specific reason why you need to know exactly what its made out of? Are you attempting to make your own? I would venture to say Aluminum due to the weight and cost of it.
  23. No, There is a difference between being a console First, PC Port later, and a multi platform game. Again it comes down to the amount of effort and time the studio is given for them, and often times its just never enough. Most of the Console first games are on there for a decent amount of time before the PC port is done, some are pretty much rushed out. It should have been much better this generation, but so far that has not been the case.
