All my parts are ordered and I can't wait to build my Granny's new PC!
-
Oops, the Kingston ram is actually cheaper than all other RAM right now so I'm going for it
-
1. The 7870K is just the slightly better version of the 7850K both running Kaveri architecture on Steamroller cores.
2. And I was being stupid and I was comparing the price the the i5 instead of the i3. The i3 is actually cheaper so I'm getting it. Here is my build. I'm ordering the parts now :D :D

-
Nvm, MSI one is so much better. I like it a lot more
-
The MSI board is $77 in Canada so I'm thinking of the
ASRock FM2A68M-HD+ Micro ATX FM2+ Motherboard for $70 CAD. Is this a good board? -
I'm definitely happy that the people on this forum aren't AMD or Intel Fanboys
-
And no dGPU. My budget is $500 CAD and I know AMD's are awesome budget CPU's. So is it a good buy? And what is @OP? And can you guys recommend a mobo thats 70 dollars or less with a usb 3.0 header? In CAD please.
-
the 7850K and 7870K are almost the same except for a .2 GHz difference which is an easy fix
-
It's for my Granny who does photoshopping, office work, multitasking, and basic tasks.
-
The A10-7850K from AMD is on sale right now from Newegg Canada for $164 CAD. Is it worth it? If it is I'd overclock it as many people have said you get get 4.5 GHz OC's on it. I was planning on getting the i3-4370 but this one is cheaper and has a much better iGPU and will have a better clock speed so is it worth it?
-
I thought he just hit 2 mil he's only like 2000 over. I'm watching one of his videos now
-
I'd just like to congratulate Linus for 2 million subscribers!!! He reached 2 mil now!! Thanks for all of your amazing content and your awesome entertainment!! Keep it up!!
-
Please answer
-
It's a 500 dollar budget PC. And I'm not sure if I can do it over USB, I couldnt find it, maybe you can? And that PC is better than the crappy Antec that I had put in the list

On the build I'm doing (that many of you have seen the planning), PCPartPicker says that some B85 chipset mobo's BIOS needs updates before using Haswell Refresh chips. With these specs will that happen and how to update it if I need to Here are my specs:

Generated by PCPartPicker 2015-11-03 16:54 EST-0500Here's the compatibility message: Some Intel B85 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Haswell Refresh CPUs.
Does this affect me and if so what can I do to fix it?
-
Well, I found Windows 7 Pro for 20 bucks so I think that this is solved. That link really saved my but
-
If you watched Linus' Hackintosh video, not all components are compatible with OS X. Remember, it's made for Mac's, from Apple. Not custom PC's.
-
Oh, and I'd be paying in Visa if that changes anything
-
ThatOneRussian I'm asking if it's even compatible. And she has an old copy of Photoshop 7 that she really wants to keep as she took it in university fyi.
-

You do realize that Windows 10 is much better in the security aspect and who cares if MS has your passwords? If your on the internet you acknowledge that ever little bit of info is going through Google and MS servers. They honestly don't care about what you do. They do it automatically, it's a fact about technology. Blame the NSA, not MS. Manofsteel, learn about how the internet works.
