  1. Thing is with a desktop it’s way easier to replace parts with quality parts inexpensively. Finding a new replacement motherboard from apple for a MBP will probably be like $900. Desktops are easier to work on easier to troubleshoot and almost always run cooler. Heat = death. Also laptops get tossed around constantly. When was the last time you ever aggressively moved a desktop or tossed it down on a bed.
  2. Out of curiosity does anyone know of any true modern single slot coolers like they use to make? Last cards I really remember them being common would something like a Nvidia 9600GT or 8800GT. Apparently GALAX made a 1070 in single slot. Any other modern fast cards you can buy?
  3. I have had a MBP for a while. Not a new one and I've always thought that it might be interesting to see if getting some big extruded aluminum heatsink from AliExpress and resting the laptop on it would work. Also you could just get a laptop cooler? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32962619321.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.108b34afTdc2cz&algo_pvid=fb3be35b-ca34-46ad-9784-6a3541f0d8dc&algo_expid=fb3be35b-ca34-46ad-9784-6a3541f0d8dc-17&btsid=0ab6f82215859664387155558e5fb5&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_
  4. Lol FML that’s really embarrassing. Literally in the before you post a troubleshooting question post that pinned at the top of the forum it says to reset CMOS. Not sure why I forgot that step. I feel dumb. It’s fixed now thanks .
  5. Opps duplicate post not sure how to remove sorry admins!
  6. Hopefully we can figure this out here so I don’t have to drop $1000 on a new CPU and mobo. Not exactly sure what the issue is. I just changed cases like a week ago. I don’t think it’s a leak in my water cooling loop that caused it. My motherboard has been a little wonky lately I had to enter the bios every time to select my boot drive since it wouldn’t save. This computer has been working for years and just decided last night to stop working. Most importantly last night my computer wasn’t shutting off after I hit shut down so I just held the power button until it shut off because I’m an ape. Won’t even post to Bios any suggestions? Did I brick my mobo? Could my 12 year old power supply be the issue??? Any thoughts would be awesome to hear. Video of the computer attempting to turn on: CPU: i7 6800k Mobo: Asus X99 WS-M Ram: G-Skill something or other. GPU: 5700XT PSU: Corsair HX750 Storage: Samsung 850 Evo 500GB, Intel NVME SSD model?

  8. No problem happy to help out if I can!
  9. So wait why are you upgrading your networking cables? I might be confused I thought the issue was the TV's optical audio out?
  10. Ahmed what you're asking for doesn't really exist. More expensive headphones are what I will call "audiophile grade". Audiophiles don't like massive skull shattering amounts of bass. People pay more for headphones to have a very flat frequency response. What that means is not a lot of bass not a lot of treble very accurate and no coloration to the sound. You don't need to spend $1000 you just need to go buy Beats Pro or Sony MDR-XB950N1's. If people spent $1000 on headphones and they were super bassy they would be pissed.
  11. I know US companies kinda suck to deal with in Canada but consider something off of DROP.com. Not just because they are constantly sponsoring LTT videos but because their value is usually MEGA. https://drop.com/audiophile/drops
  12. Joey the JBL's they recommend are considered to be incredibly good value. However there a ton of great value Edifier speakers too. Consider going up in the Edifier range really cant go wrong.
  13. or people really like these as well. https://www.amazon.com/1MORE-Earphones-Headphones-Resolution-Smartphones/dp/B01A7G35S0/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1G7MMKBKMZMDA&dchild=1&keywords=1more+triple+driver&qid=1585515293&sprefix=1more+%2Caps%2C221&sr=8-1
  14. I like Shure SE215's if you like fun sounding headphones with a little extra bass. https://www.shure.com/en-US/products/earphones/se215
