Hey guys, recently upgraded a rig to include a motherboard with the ALC1150 codec. This honestly has been a pleasant leap in on-board sound quality, as (to my ears) it's only marginally worse compared to my dedicated DAC. My experience hasn't been as great, however, for the microphone input and I'd like to squeeze more out of the Modmic that I know to be better. Are there any cheap sub $30-40 microphone preamp solutions that aren't too complex but perform decently for their price. I've done some general searches on the subject, but all the hits seemed to point to more professional applications. Any help is much appreciated, thanks!
