  1. Do you not read the posts you respond to? He plans to get a 4K display. At 4K 4090+5700g will be faster than any other combination involving slower GPUs. And not a little bit faster. A LOT faster. Bottlenecking is irrelevant here. Something will always be the limiting factor.
  2. It doesn't matter that it's a huge bottleneck. If he plans to go to 4K it will become less important and in 1080p it will still be faster than 3080 or 6800xt...
  3. Ofc it will be bottleneck, but there is nothing you can do about it if you want a 4090. Techpowerup did a test with a 5800x vs 12900k https://www.techpowerup.com/review/rtx-4090-53-games-ryzen-7-5800x-vs-core-i9-12900k/2.html it's not like a bottleneck will stop the computer from working...
  4. For the monitor settings you mostly want to look at the reviews and what they recommend, there is no general best configuration, each monitor is different.
  5. Okay, EVGA chose to use the 16 pin. Then 12VHPWR will work.
  6. Going from a Razer to a laptop that costs 1500 usd will always feel like a downgrade. So what does "decent" mean? You can get a last gen AMD advantage laptop for 1500 https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Advantage-6800M-Keyboard-Win-Home,/dp/B09TKH7JTV/ref=sr_1_5?crid=3Q4BCELTZVCXU&keywords=6800m&qid=1667145354&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI1LjAxIiwicXNhIjoiMy40NiIsInFzcCI6IjIuMDAifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=6800%2Caps%2C173&sr=8-5 that would kick ass in most games, considering the GPU matches 3070ti-3080 And Ryzen 5980HX is still more than fast enough.
  7. The 3000 series 12 pin is different from the actual 12VHPWR connector. It doesn't have extra sensing pins. I don't know if 12VHPWR even fits.
  8. Try different drivers, try running GPU memory tests.
  9. Yes, it will be fine. RMx is a good unit and your CPU is very low power. My cousin has 5800x+6900xt on a 650W superflower psu.
  10. I might be biased, but tp-link has never let me down. Deco X75 looks nice, affordable too.
  11. The card will work, however pulling over 8 amps through 18 awg cable is not advisable. The cable/connectors will heat up during longer game sessions.
  12. That i5 was pretty much as fast as you could get when 980Ti launched. So do you think the GPU gained speed or CPU slowed down since then? The combination worked as well back then as it does now, just the games got more demanding, replacing one part of the equation isn't going to help much. It might help a few percentage points in some games.
  13. Your unit is pretty old so it doesn't have proper 300W daisy chained cables. Did you buy it as a prebuilt or did you lose the cables? Since it should have had 2 cables in the box originally.
  14. So is a 980Ti? Well if you have DDR4 then you pretty much have to go for Adler Lake, because 5800x3d is over your entire budget of 300. 15. Look in your motherboards manual? Usually most vendors have an updater software. 13400F will be rebranded Adler Lake so why are you waiting?
  16. Yeah, this image was posted by Seasonic, because their older units shipped with inadequate cables which couldn't handle daisy chained 8 pins. Wire gauge is usually marked on the cable. Or you can google your unit and look for reviews, they usually have an overview of the cables.

  18. It would help a little bit, but I would argue that it's not worth spending money for it.
  19. That's basically the current gen console spec. There wouldn't be a bottleneck, you would just be limited by different things in different games. For example the CPU heavy games like the new Spiderman or Cyberpunk would probably hit CPU limits, while other games would max out the GPU.
  20. Doesn't look like it has any variable refresh rate tech. Too old.
  21. 12400F doesn't need much. The best cheap board would probably be this one https://pcpartpicker.com/product/KKbTwP/msi-pro-b660m-a-ddr4-micro-atx-lga1700-motherboard-pro-b660m-a-ddr4 it has enough VRM cooling to run even something like an i7.
  22. Asus tuf b550m-e gaming Best one there. Has a BIOS flash button.
