  1. I love the case, really wish Luke built a Micro-ATX build in it though (seriously? no Micro-ATX in that huge warehouse? Come on guiz...) The mini-ITX build looks less than desirable... Especially with all that exposed wiring. This is definitely a case for the enthusiasts who are willing to go the extra mile with custom length sleeved cable, since the full tempered glass side panel doesn't allow you to hide any subpar cable management. Disappointed that Luke didn't point out the front I/O cables still using rainbow colored ends... Great case, ugly quick build, no amount of fancy camera angle is going to hide the ugly build.
  2. Awesome video from Taran. If you don't want to go through Lua program to add another keyboard, you could look into those DIY Mechanical keyboards with their own microcontrollers you can program; or you could buy a dedicated MIDI Controller and program that instead. I'd imagine it'd be worth it for the editors of LTT to invest into something like that, especially having physical knobs you can use for timeline scrubbing would be very useful. Barnacules actually did a very cool review on these today as well.
  3. I don't think it's misleading though. While I don't think it's a wise investment option. I think the people who are looking into such services should already know the risk. Linus is doing an advertisement of the service, not as a financial adviser giving financial advice. I personally prefer stock indexes (currently have my retirement in an S&P 500 stock index), which has been trading much better historically than any mutual fund or 99% of individual brokers.
  4. I feel like every single review of the 380x avoids the elephant in the room, which is the R9 290. I know the R9 290 is a last generation card, but right now you can purchase a R9 290 for the MSRP of a 380x... But, no one wants to bring it up because it's a "last gen" card.
  5. I felt like this video told us absolutely nothing. Would have been much more informational talking about reference 980 ti vs an overclocked EVGA 980 Classified. Especially since we're seeing lower end 980ti's go for 600-630 USD, while the listed EVGA 980 Classified is going for 630 USD.
  6. If strictly talking about gaming, there's no difference between DDR3 and DDR4 as of yet. As far as amount of memory, 8gb should be fine for all gaming purposes, though 16gb is probably best if you're a heavy multi-tasker.
  7. IMO the biggest sin, is comparing the 960 to the 370, with 0 mentions of the 280, 285, 280x, 380, and the upcoming 380x.... All with in similar price point. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around suggesting the 970 over the 390, but that's a lot less of an egregious of a mistake than the 960 suggestion...
  8. Not sure why the GTX 960 suggestion when you get a r9 380 for the same price, and better performance... Also, for the 1k build, 390, and 290x are also viable choices. For 2k build, if this is "just for gaming", 6700k would have been the better choice, better single threaded performance than the 5820k, also 32gb of ram is overkill for gaming, could just be left with 16gb, and save the money for a m.2 storage drive.
  9. The advantage isn't just better ppi, it's also having a bigger screen, which is more immersive. There's a reason why movies just look way better in movie theaters than they do in your living room. They can keep the high resolution + size. Not to mention, you don't want insane PPI anyways, Windows text scaling is still utter shit. TekSyndicate guys are all super hyping up 4k@40" because of this. Around same pixel density at 27" 1440p display, but WAYYYY more screen real estate.
  10. I don't think so. Not at least on decent settings and frame rates. Just some final thoughts on a "good" version of this build. PSU should be mounted on bottom for better weight distribution. Add fan on top cap for exhausting air through top. Custom cable sleeves to reduce clutter+better airflow. Would have avoided the entire I/O issue by just cutting out rectangular slot for mobo's I/O. Also, instead of making 1 cylindrical shape for the bomb extensino for room, it would have been better to create 2 non-symmetrical semi-circular shapes to make up the cylinder extension, with a slight gap in between the two for the pci-e riser. Personally, would have removed original sound making stuff upon button push, and just replaced it with only power button. 0 reason to use a SATA SSD here when m.2 slot is available, save more space and cabling. If space permits it, cut one of the radiation hazard signs out, attach small yellow led'd up fan, ideally with the radiation hazard sign facing the GPU. Also, x-acto knife >>> dremel, especially since it looked like the plastic was fairly easy to cut. Also, as far as part list, any i5 would do, 6600k and 6700k both overkill, especially since you're not going to be overclocking such a tight build.
  11. I mean it would suck to build a fallout themed pc that couldn't even play fallout 4... Also I don't know Luke was having such a hard time stenciling... Oh god, the glue'd outlet ports for USB and audio/mic... the cringe is too real. I really wish they took the time to make a non-ghetto rigged pc mod. It would have been awesome for them to do a really in depth high quality level pc mod build.
  12. I love PC mod vids, but man some of that was truly ghetto rigged. Would have liked to have seen that power cable insulated correctly after soldering. Also was there a reason why Luke went a roller instead of spray paint? I think he mentioned voltage issues. TBH, I would have removed the original switch all together, the noise/sound is sort of annoying, and isn't that awesome that it's worth keeping.
  13. Damn, that stuff looks nice, especially that keyboard.
