  1. Ok, my 6700k is my first intel chip so their mobos and stuff isn't my specaillity. Its not that I cannot work with them its just for PC building I haven't worked with Intel much.
  2. wait no, its for second generation, I don't think it will work with a 3570k, maybe I'm not sure how intel's backwards compatibility is.
  3. never mind wrong thing. you should be good then I think. just make sure it all works before you can't return it.
  4. yeah u need a new one. For 150 that is a good deal and as long as you have a good cooler with it and it works I would get it. Also if it is in your budget look for a used gtx 970. Everyone is selling them cheap now cause Pascal and RX 480.
  5. Basically the most reliable source ever: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaby_Lake
  6. Well the 6500 can't overclock and the 600 i5's always beat the 500 i5's.
  7. can you overclock with your motherboard? Not all motherboards are capable of it...
  8. Also Kaby Lake will be coming soon so Skylake prices should drop, or you could just get the newest possible as it would last the longest.
  9. The i5 3570k, according to userbenchmark is only 2% worse than the i5 6500. I actually have a friend in this same predicament. He had a GTX 660 and a i5 3350p and upgraded to my used 970 and is thinking about just getting a 3570k or 3770k vs buying skylake. Depending on what prices you find, I would consider going with a 3570k or maybe even a 3770k i7. Especially with the hyper threading, which games are now starting to use more and more. So either go with the i7 or i5. One quick thing, MAKE SURE YOUR MOBO CAN OVERCLOCK. There is no point to get the k edition if you wont utilize that feature.
  10. How and I don't see why the GPU boost would cause this. Like just in any games it goes to this.
  11. Windows 10 64 bit pro. I did reinstall the newest drivers a second time. I completely wiped out all video drivers before installing any drivers. I didn't OC, thats just what it boosted too. Here is the card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127947
  12. I just received my GTX 1070 from MSI this Wednesday and it has been freezing during games. From CSGO to GTA V. I will be playing a game and then all of a sudden my gpu usage will drop to one percent, my clock will lower from 1930 to 960mhz and my game will freeze for like 3-6 seconds. Then the clock speed will go back to normal and gpu usage will go back to what it was. In all of these games I get over 100 fps and ran them fine with my GTX 970 I had before this. I called both Nvidia and MSI and the only solution they gave me was messing with settings and rolling back to the previous driver for 1070. Please help. I don't want to RMA unless I have to. I have a i7 6700k so I doubt its a bottleneck.
