  1. Hello. I'm planning to route some networking from my central modem in my home to a newly built office approximately 50 meters away. We've already got some pre-existing conduit which houses a high voltage power line. Due to the high voltage line, running ethernet close to it would cause interference in theory so I thought about running fibre optic cables instead with converters on the end of both to transfer them back into a gigabit rj-45 ethernet port either end. I would like to know your thoughts and suggestions regarding routing networking in my scenario. Cheers!
  2. Hi, Will it be possible to use 2x 2TB WD Red and 2x 4TB WD Red in a RAID 1 Configuration with FreeNAS to get a total of 6TB of storage? Also, adding to the raid array, say I already had RAID 1 setup on 2x 2TB WD Red, would it be possible to add 2 more 4TB WD Reds?
  3. Hi, I'm currently in the process of building a small pfSense router. I have sourced a 1U, short ITX server case which I wish to use already. Links bellow. I'd like to know your recommendations on a motherboard and CPU (preferably an embedded) which I could use in my build. Also, a network card will be used. 4. Hi, I was wondering which cheap cpu would work with the new version of pfSence. Looking for some cheap amd or intel chip
  5. Hi, I'm interested in purchasing an ultrawide alongside 2x 23 inch Asus monitors. I was wondering what size ultrawide I would need to buy to match the height of the 23 inch monitors. Looking for something like this: The Asus Monitors: https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-Monitor-1920x1080-Frameless-Certified/dp/B00YQKTGR8/ref=sr_1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1486205037&sr=1-2&keywords=asus I'm not sure which size ultrawide, here it is anyway: https://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-25UM58-P-25-Inch-21-UltraWide/dp/B01BV1XB2K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1486204709&sr=8-1&keywords=lg+ultrawide+monitor
  6. Will DDR2 ECC 700MHz be fine for a NAS? (FreeNAS). Will I be losing out anything compared to DDR3 ECC Ram?
  7. Hi, Have a couple of questions the community could help me out with. Currently I am looking to buy a cheap 1u rack mountable Dell system, I am only looking to run FreeNAS and a couple of TB at the most on it. Nothing special or intensive at all. (I currently use a WD Mycloud) Generally, would these older Xenons be alright running the OS and so on. Cheers.

  10. If you are going to be doing live streams and you would like to see a live output with no delay, then go for the HD60s If you are going to be recording gameplay and then edit it later, there is no point paying extra for the no latency. PS. That is my personal opinion.
  11. Let's get straight to the point; Noctua or Corsair Fans?
