  1. Who would buy a 6600K and not OC to 4.5 though?? And the OC doesnt seem like that big of a bottle neck excluding games like crysis/witcher 3 both of which benefit from hyperthreading.
  2. The plugs would be in place of the screws, the screws typically come with the vesa mount (in my experience) but you never know, they could be back there =]
  3. It's always good practice to have a backup hd with all your important stuffs on it. i usually back up once a week or after an important project/file is done. There's a few external bays you can put your backup in and plug in via USB to add files on it instead of going through SATA
  4. Might i add it may take quite a few tries, only way you'll get the perfect mech feel though is unfortunately just buy a couple new switches, they're not **That** expensive.
  5. (Similar to patina on copper) But it doesnt oxidize as though iron/steel would.
  6. q-tip and a mild cleaning solution to get that pesky southern style sweet tea out of the switch, probably in the lil corners on the... peg?
  7. As stated, as long as you dried it off prior to powering the system on, you'll be alright.
  8. Just had a hitachi drive fail on me last night. Its more of a lottery when it comes to the HDD, some last YEAARRS, some don't. Adata is a decent SSD as well, best bang for the buck.
  9. Challenge accepted. On topic: You're fine. If everything is working well, then no worries.
  10. But it is, there are shorter options. As we said, avoid the strix. which opens you up to other options. But if your dead set on that card, case modding is about the only other option, but it being a decent size atx case how doesnt it fit? Or just remove the damn HDD cage...
  11. Just wanting one is a valid argument, as a lot of games don't support SLI properly. But i agree, 980ti's would have been the better option as a "I want it now" card.
  12. Try taking a small flathead screwdriver to the rubber plugs, a lot of time they can be a b**ch to remove.
  13. This. always check reviews before buying anything.
  14. I've been thinking of buying a cheap case and attempting it, but mine was $160 and it just makes me cringe thinking about taking a rotary tool to it lol. Would probably do a deadpool theme lol.
  15. As for the first question, Anti-static bag (can be purchased from stores such as microcenter) closed cell foam padding (generous amounts) any accessories you have that go to it, and a sturdy box, inside of another box. (and ill mail that box to myself... and when it arrives... ILL SMASH IT WITH A HAMMER!!)
  16. Really wish i had the balls to mod my case, but 1) not creative enough 2) Though I've cut aluminum/steel before, I'm afraid i would screw it up lol, so props to ya!
  17. Not a problem! Good luck and i hope it sorts everything out!
  18. Yes delete all of the, when you plug the device in again, it should reinstall the drivers on it's own. (the popup you see when plugging something in for the first time is that process taking place)
  19. Great... now what am i going to do with my 2x 8 pin extensions =\
  20. This hits too close to home, try explaining to your mother (thats 1700 miles away) that the data on her HDD isn't recoverable. She express mailed it to me, i attempted a fix.. When plugged into my PC, ended up corrupting my hard drives, had to wipe and reformat my pc... So when i told her i was able to format her HDD i told her that was all i was able to do, however while in the process of formatting it, it came up as a "Bad drive" (wonderful... another thing to explain). Anyway will be using it as target practice this weekend. Forgot to add: She ended up buying a whole new laptop (was a 5 year old vaio anywho) Threw a HDD i had laying around into it, gave the laptop to my fiancee for the time being so ill stop accidentally deleting her wedding plan folder lol with my re-formats 'n such.
  21. You sent him into full salesmen mode. COME BACK TO US, YOU'RE NOT AT WORK **Heavy breathing**
  22. As I love black/white builds i would agree, but in the spirit of neutrality, even white can throw it off, but i do love some HOF cards ~.^
  23. I'm inclined to disagree, give me a nice black PCB any day. Any other color limits your color scheme or throws off the one you have, even with a large cooling solution on the card, you can still see them 90% of the time. Flashy fan shrouds is one thing, keep the PCB neutral. Also the red PCB just makes me think of a cheap product. My 2 cents.
  24. You wouldn't happen to have any PS2 style keyboards laying around would you? that should alleviate your issue and let you be able to do your windows reset, also uninstall all your hid drivers/usb and let them reinstall.
