  2. Google says the optical bay for the ROG G551 only support Sata 2. Performance on Sata 3: 500 MB/s read 400 MB/s write Performance on Sata 2: is up to 300 MB/s In reality around 250 MB/s Link for Speed test Sata 3: http://ssd.userbenchmark.com/Samsung-850-Evo-500GB/Rating/3477

  5. Yes and here is a upgrade guide for you, when you want to replace your HDD. http://rog.asus.com/376092014/g-series-gaming-laptops/g551-upgrade-guide/
  6. Mybe your Operationg System Share the ram with the your onbord graphics card (ATI Radeon™ HD 3000 GPU). The onbord graphics should only use a maximum of 1G Ram. But try to o disable the onbord graphics in your BIOS.
  7. Normally it is not a problem when the SSD Sata connector is compatible with the Sata connector from the optical bay. But i think you cant use the full speed from the SSD over the optical bay. If you want an second disk, i recommend to replace the internal HDD with the SSD an put the HDD in the optical bay. Or you buy a big SDD
  8. Which Operationg System use use? with which architecture (32bit/64bit)? Operationg System with 32bit architectur can only use 4gb of RAM. When you want use the 8gb you need a 64bit Operationg System.
