  1. So, it has been 16 hours since the release of the video and the AMD side of things is already obsolete... personally I wouldn't be satisfied with my work this way
  2. http://i.imgur.com/pSiGM4v.jpg I mean... it's not even working as advertised any more, it cant achieve any noise cancelling with the earpads in that condition. ASUS state they cover warranty in defects with the materials, which means either: 1. The leather is defect, so it got worn out extremely quickly, thus the warranty should be honored 2. The leather is not defect, it was designed to last a year, the warranty should not be honored I guess its option 2, isn't it.
  3. I bought a pair of ASUS Vulcan ANC headphones 15 months ago. They have 24 months warranty. http://imgur.com/a/eDuJM - here they are (this was achieved by normal usage). They are unusable in this state, but ASUS refuses to do anything, since the headphones themselves are working. There are tons of complaints about the same issue on the ROG forums. I personally can not trust ASUS any more, or at least their ROG lineup, since, I thought, there would be some QA involved.
  4. The premium feel of the phone - the steel. Also, speakers !
  5. This thread amuses me. You all should chill the fuck out. A GTX 780, in my country, costs 942 USD. MINIMUM wage is $1,13/h. Yes, that's ONE DOLLAR. But almost no one works at minimum wage. Average income is $2,47/h. Neat, right ? Average person has to work 381 hours to afford a GTX 780, that's ALMOST 16 DAYS non-stop working. My country is even a part of the European Union, i have a Galaxy S4, its not like we live in mud huts. The worst part is, i have a BSc in engineering, and i'm getting payed ~750 USD a month, with monthly payments for bills/commodities is around ~200 USD, and for the same job, someone in the US, that probably knows less than me, is getting payed absurdly more, because he was fortunate enough to be born in a different country. So, quit bitching around. Thanks.
  6. Ok guys i have an update on this matter. I just came back, i dismounted the stock cooler and reattached it, used arctic silver 5 compound, set the fan to max in bios, but nothing has changed, RealTemp ramps up to 93 °C after about two mins of Blend Test. CPU-Z shows voltage around 1.23-1.25, which seems normal for sandy(??) (my OC ivy has lower voltage than that). Whats going on...
  7. Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I should have noted that I've worked ~3 years in a hardware store and i was the PC assembly guy, so I've done this hundreds of times. The current issue is a friend of mine's, i'll be going there on Monday to see whats going on, i just wanted to get some opinions beforehand, since I assembled that PC and i'm pretty confident in my capabilities of applying thermal paste and installing a stock cooler :) The rig is few months old, but today he got a BSOD during an anti-virus scan so he decided to check on CPU temps and whatnot and these were the results (Realtemp was used). I know Sandy's IHS is soldered so that shouldn't be the issue, it just seemed odd for me for a non OCed Sandy to go that high on a stock cooler.
  8. Its the non-k version, its NOT overclocked. It uses the stock cooler and i've changed the thermal compound with a better one, but that didn't change anything. There is no dust, open case, the ambient is around ~23 °C. Haven't touched anything in the BIOS and the mobo is AsRock B75 Pro3. Any suggestions ?

  11. The NCIX video claims its a value rig, that uses GTX 660 priced @ $232. The value of a 7870 is much better, Now i fully understand that probably the AMD series are selling good on their own, so they need to move nVidia cards too, but i have this bad taste in my mouth in the way they are doing it, and at the end of the day, Linus is a part of it. Even in his reviews tho he seems to be satisfied of the product. On the new GPU benchmark vids he should called out the fact that a lower tier AMD card beats a higher tier nVidia one (7870 vs 660ti), Sure, you could have drawn that conclusion yourself, but i found it strange he didn't do it. I feel he is worried to not damage his relations with the manufacturers, hence the approach he takes. But even then, on his live stream, he is a lot more honest about his views on a product.
  12. Except the live stream, every video i watch of Linus i have the feeling he is trying to sell me something. The latest video i've watched, the NCIX Vesta 5100 CE, made me make this thread, where they had a GTX 660 in the rig, while a 7870 performs much better and is at the same price point, if not cheaper, than the GTX 660. Stuff like that make me question the integrity of the information he is putting out. I just felt i need to get this off my chest, since i had it building up for quite some time.
  13. GPU-Z shows 1.14 during Kombustor testing, while the voltage in Trixx is set to 1.2 Is this normal ?
