  1. My favorite thing about the z2 is the front facing speakers. And my fav about dbrand is their support of tech tips.
  2. I'd love to see that final build haha. The thing would be a lava rock though, pardon the pun.
  3. I've never built with micro or mini...you think it would fit in one or both? And would that be an interesting video/project just for the lols? http://youtu.be/RSWDk8K46CI?t=1m46s
  4. It's a great cpu for the money as everyone's said. I don't know about those temps (depends on the cooler) but performance is pretty darn good. I don't have too much to compare it to from experience but I'm happy with mine for sure.
  5. Thanks, I sorta figured that out after some extra research although I couldn't find the exact rated speeds for the randoms. But sequentials are near where they're supposed to be. I should have done more research before I bought it.
  6. Hey, if anyone cares, changing ports won't help. It's just a shit drive. What I'm going to do is just get another evo which is faster anyway and cheaper than they were when I got my first one. Thanks for the help everyone.
  7. Thanks, I'm installing a new cooler today so I'll do it then and let you know if it works.
  8. My other SSD. An 840 evo, is fine. It's just the 840 I use for my boot drive. Is that what you were asking?
  9. It's the 840 Evo that has rapid. Not the base 840 drive which is the one I'm talking about. At least it doesn't show up as an option for mine. I know cause I have an 840 evo for games. I didn't wanna RMA it till I got some help looking for other solutions to the problem. If I can save it, I'd like to do that of course. But yeah, I suppose that may be the course I have to go.
  10. So my 840 SSD is getting seq read: 510MB/s seq write: 125 MB/s (OUCH!) random read: 40,759 IOPS random write: 22,603 IOPS It should be rated higher than this. I haven't had the disk for very long. Less than a year or so. I've done the Samsung Magician performance/OS optimizations so I don't think it's that. Although, please mention if there's some optimizations I've missed. This isn't lookin' good for my SSD. I didn't bother testing it when I got it so I'm not sure how long it's been this way. Any help would be appreciated.
  11. So the potential fix would be going into nvidia control panel. Then "manage 3d settings." Then "program settings." Make sure you add the "starcitizen.exe" file and not just the starcitizenlauncher.exe. Then go to configure surroun, physx, and make sure it's set to have your gpu handle physx. Let me know if this helps. I still get the hangup when enemies drop out of hyperspace, but other than that it seems things are a lot better.
  12. You know? I think I may have found the problem. Nvidia control panel does not automatically recognize star citizen. This means that some features may not be available, particularly the physx leaving the cpu to take over the physics calculations. That may be what's causing the 100%cpu utilization and low gpu usage many have been experiencing. I can do a before and after test if you guys want to make sure. But currently, I'm no longer experiencing any issues that I can tell. Will keep you posted.
  13. Just so you know, I've got the same exact problem as yourself. So you're not alone! 780 dc2 oc fx8350 16gb ram I'm getting that same drop in frames with a corresponding drop in gpu usage. Probably lackluster optimization since we're both experiencing it.
  14. Thanks for actually contributing to the conversation. I don't know about you but there seem to be a lot of people on these forums who just like to shit on people. I'd never heard of Photons or Blakecoin but they sound interesting. The thing is, if you aren't investing in the coin, why do you care? And I think those people are also missing the point of "TOTALLY DECENTRALIZED CURRENCY". It means anyone can create one. That's the beauty of it. If their infrastructure is sound and their code is well maintained, the coin may do very well. And if it's such an easy thing to innovate on the altcoin concept, why don't you do it?
  15. Please take your shittalking elsewhere...if you want to bully someone why don't you do it at recess? If people don't know what either of those coins are they can go to those websites to find out more, I think that's a legitimate thing to do given the fact that the post was about these coins and in general other coins which have been called LTC clones.
