  1. I have an Acer R240HY and I think its a amazing monitor for 130. Slight backlight bleed but for the most part unnoticeable, ddefinitely would recommend this.
  2. +1 to the xeon, solid cpu considering the price. Holds up to my gaming and editing needs without sweat.
  3. +1 for the Cryorig Coolers
  4. Somethings off there, Mine averages 50-70 fps on ultra, and 90+ on High for the most part on battlefield. The 950 is a solid card for 1080p medium-high settings. (You will be able to max out some games, ex. overwatch) But 4k definitely a no no on a 950, perhaps low-medium settings on 4k?. Like others have said, If you can wait for prices to drop I'd highly recommend you to go with a RX480/GTX1060. (whatever is cheaper for you.)
  5. Premiere Pro or Vegas, I prefer Premiere now, but I started off on Vegas and I felt it was much faster to learn imo.
  6. Hey! I am currently looking for a laptop around $1000-1100 for my brother. This will be used for school work, and some light gaming. Would prefer a larger laptop (ex. 15in-17in) but also one that isn't thick as a brick. I would love to hear your recommendations as I'm not to good at picking out laptops :P. Thanks.
  7. Check your task scheduler to see if you have any tasks waking your PC up every few days.
  8. Nope, full specs are in my sig. I am a huge power user so I usually have many things open, like having everything where I left off at.
  9. It might be your mouse/keyboard? Most likely windows update? (Had this problem on my htpc before, ended up being my wireless mouse)
  10. Like the title says I'm just wondering. Personally I RARELY turn my pc off, only if needed. (ex. restart after install) I guess I like having my things as I left it. Would love your feedback, thanks. Also... Is there any real downsides to this that I don't know about?
  11. Thanks guys for the opinions, I do have the RX480 in mind but I am willing to get a 1060 as its within my budget. Thanks again!
  12. Hey guys so I'm seeing "like new" GTX 970's for around $170-$240. Some haven't even been unboxed and some have been used a couple of times, is it better buying this or buying a new gtx 1060 for ~20 bucks more? I'd like your opinions, thanks!
  13. r/microsoftsoftwareswap?, Personally haven't had any problems.
  14. Like Morgan MLGman has said, if your load temps are okay then you will be fine for now.
  15. Check your bios for cpu fan speed settings. Usually a option for "Max Speed".
  16. Also like others have said try running a benchmark/game and see if the fans spin. (watch for temps and the load)
  17. I'm pretty sure EVGA cards/many modern cards don't use their fan unless they reach ~60c?/under a certain load, I'm guessing the fans start spinning when you open PrecisionX because maybe there is a default fan curve set? (not to familiar with PrecisionX) My card on default settings doesn't spin until it reaches 60c.
  18. You can try using NVIDIA Game Stream from geforce experience and download something like Moonlight from the play store. Seems to work pretty well for me. Not sure about steam in home streaming. (obviously it can do pc to pc and pc to steam link, not sure about tablets/android devices)
  19. I'll most likely go for a caviar black. My drive currently shows in Crystal disk info as "caution", and I can't even run the wd utility. (Failed SMART status) When testing with hdtune I also get failed results when testing. I use my system as a "workstation"/gaming pc, my secondary drive consists mostly of personal files like pictures, documents, music and backups. I do have a primary ssd for programs and os.
  20. Looking for a new secondary drive to put in my pc. (My secondary drive, a Caviar blue is starting to show symptoms of failure. Been about 4 years) What would be a good reliable hard drive that would last?, are Seagate barracudas any better?, I hear HGST has some reliable drives. Would like to hear your recommendations. thanks.
  21. Alright thanks for the opinion.
  22. If price wasn't a problem (seems fairly close ~30 difference with ddr4 going down in price and the 6600k being only $220) would you still go with the b85 and xeon upgrade?
  23. How about things like ram, how much or a difference do you think there is when video editing or using photoshop. (would it be more cpu dependent?, if so then i'm guessing the xeon preforms slightly better)
