  1. Well on the product specification page it says that the motherboard supports a resolution of 1920x1200 over VGA.
  2. What if I got a GEFORCE N740, and use two of its connectors + 1 of the motherboard connectors. Would that work?
  3. Hello guys, I am considering to buy an MSI B150 PC Mate motherboard, however I need to connect it to a total of 3 monitors. I am aware that the board has 3 video output connectors (1x HDMI, 1x VGA, 1x DVI-D), but I am not entirely sure whether it can run all three at the same time. Your input on the matter would be greatly appreciated. Here's the list of all the parts.
  4. No gaming, Escape the Room is a live escape game, i.e. groups of people come to play inside a real physical room. The PC build is meant to run the software that controls the game (timer, hints, music, video, etc..). The motherboard I chose (MSI B150 PC Mate) has 3 video output connectors (1x HDMI, 1x VGA, 1x DVI-D), however I am not sure whether it can run all three at the same time, which is exactly what I am inquiring about.
  5. Hello guys, I've been tasked to build a desktop PC for a company I am working for and here at the requirements: Run on 3 separate monitors Handle mildly optimized software and HD media playback without stutter Output audio over two separate channels Budget: 600$ Here's the list of parts. Questions: I understand that the motherboard does have 3 connectors for display, but does it support running all 3 at the same time? I would rather not buy a dedicated GPU to do the task. Should I look into sound cards for dual channel audio output? Different tracks must play on different channels (and not simply the same track on multiple channels). Do you have any suggestions? More details: This build is for an Escape the Room game in Lebanon. If you're not familiar with the concept, I suggest you look it up online and actually try it out for yourself! This build will only be running a custom built platform to run the game and communicate with players while they're inside the room. I am limited in the choice of parts that are available locally. Thank you for your kind consideration
  6. Thank you for your feedback guys. I guess I'll hold off buying the GPU for now. The reason I was going for SLI was because I can't afford the 980ti just yet and starting with one 970 and then upgrading with a second one seemed easier.
  7. I am aware and will be getting the CM V8 GTS cooler a couple of weeks after I finish my build.
  8. Thank you for putting the effort to write something that has absolutely no use to anyone Would you mind pointing out what exactly is unbalanced?
  9. Hello guys, I am planning my first ever PC build and ran into a slight complication that I am not sure how to handle exactly. Here's the link to PcPartPicker. It is stated that I need 2 additional PCI-Express 6-pin power connectors if I want to have a 2 way SLI configuration. Is it because my power supply doesn't have enough power connectors to run 2 graphics cards? Is there a way I can fix this without having to change the power supply? Thank you for your feedback, Jad.
  10. Any suggestions on the CPU cooler? Also, would it be a good idea it to build the PC without the GPU and then later on buying a higher end card such as the GTX 980? The CPU should suffice for a month's worth of browsing and video streaming, with perhaps occasional photoshop projects. Right?
  11. Oh yeah I should be upgrading to 16 GB within a month or so.
  12. @Castdeath97 Mostly coding and photoshop. But I do like to make some video editing every now and then.
  13. Hello fellow enthusiasts, I recently started my research into building my own desktop and have grown quite fond of the LinusTechTips videos. I figured I would share my planned build on these forums for reviewing and to ask a couple of questions. This is the first time I ever do this so your feedback would be greatly appreciated guys! PARTS LIST Case: Cooler Master SCOUT 2 Black Mid Tower ATX w/ Window Motherboard: MSI Z97 Gaming 5 CPU: Haswell 4.0 Ghz i7-4790k Video Card: MSI GTX 960 Gaming 4G Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Red Series 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 1866 Disk Drive: Samsung SH-224DB/BEBE DVDRW - Dual Layer Black SATA SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SATA M.2 SATA 6Gbps HDD: SEAGATE 1TB 7200 RPM SATA III 64MB HDD Power Supply: Thermaltake Smart SE SPS 730M 730W PSU Monitor: LG 24MP56HQ Wide 23.8" LED IPS Full HD / Wide Viewing Angle Operating System: Windows 8.1 Approximate cost = $ 1,600 - 1,700 USD This is already a bit over my budget and I will probably struggle a bit to cover it but in my country the parts are a bit overpriced, and even if I order them online the shipping costs and customs fees would probably end up costing me more money, so this was the best I was able to muster. Also please keep in mind that I am a bit limited with stock availability. That being said, I am striving to build a system that would be able to handle whatever I might throw at it (coding, graphic design, video editing and the occasional 3D modelling). I will also be gaming often, playing World of Warcraft, Far Cry, Call of Duty, Skyrim, GTA V, Batman Arkham Knight, and any other game I might find compelling. I will be starting out with one 24' monitor. I multitask a lot so I will eventually get a second monitor for a dual screen configuration. 1080p at 60Hz will suffice for now but I would love to upgrade to 144Hz or even 4K in the future (having upgraded my GPU of course). I will eventually be buying a gaming grade keyboard and mouse (most probably from Razor) as well. What do you guys think? Is it worth it buying a second monitor or should I focus on having one really good monitor instead (e.g. 27' at 144Hz)? I am also looking for an air-based CPU cooler that isn't too bulky and matches the red and black color scheme of the build yet delivers good cooling for some decent overclocking. Thank you for reading, Jad.
