  1. Not poor people who are forced to live with their grandmothers.
  2. tell me your secret on that download speed, please. Lol. And what I said before was only referring to most people, not all. Only saying that because if I were to ask someone in my family "how many mb is your upload speed" literally no one would even know what a mb is...Same goes with other people I know, too.
  3. Not usually. I'm pretty sure most people in the US are just too ignorant to know or care about internet speeds. Every time I ask about people's speeds they never seem to have any clue as to what they are using or what they are paying for. Most people (like my parents) who are paying for this stuff usually have a deal with x amount of channels with telephone service and internet for a specific price and usually people go for what provides the best prices for the most amount of channels. People I know don't usually know nor care about internet speeds unless they are tech geeks like me.
  4. Alright, so I've got a new gaming rig that I just built and I was wondering if there is any way I can improve my computer speed. It actually runs fine in terms of normal performance but it just seems to fall behind in upload and download speed. So I went on speedtest.net and saw that I have a ping of 11 (which im satisfied with). However, my download speed was 28 Mbps and my upload speed was 5 Mbps. The fact of the matter is that I just want to know if there's any way to improve these two speeds? I already have a direct ethernet cat6 cable plugged into my pc and to my router. Don't know how to improve any of these speeds. Also, if there's literally no solution, than can someone recommend me a service that provides great internet speeds? Cause I went over my friends house and saw he had a download speed of 60 Mbps and upload of 29 Mbps and I was only doing the test from my smartphone.
  5. If you want a sexy and very durable case with great quality at a cheap price, get the nzxt s340. I got it for my build and I've noticed no problems and it's just the right size. It's not huge and it has great air flow and looks very nice with led strips. Usually u can buy some satochi leds on amazon for around 25 bucks and it makes a huge difference if you are a fashionista and want to impress people with the sexiness level of your build.
  6. Yeah I was because if i didn't write down the specific prices on my wishlist I would have went ahead and bought the stuff without knowing about the prices beforehand. They tried to rip me off and I would've been ripped off. Only reason i wasnt is because I prepared ahead of time.
  7. And if you absolutely need the logo then make sure ur computer is fully up to date and no updates are available and then restart. But im pretty sure u can just force install.
  8. Just force install it like everyone else: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10ISO
  9. I disagree on the black friday thing. I mean I haven't tried it, but my experience with other stuff similar to black friday was awful. I was recently ripped off several times by amazon during amazon prime day and by some other stores...I had a wishlist of all my parts and I was all ready with my money to buy them but literally all the deals were the week before the actual sale days and probably two weeks after the sale day. So just look around and if you see something good, get it because when the sale days actually came for me on amazon prime, the prices actually skyrocketed and it would have been a mistake If i had bought that crap. Also, I HIGHLY recommend websites like newegg that don't charge for taxes because amazon usually does for things like pc parts. It's also where I ended up buying all my parts for my build that I constructed about 5 days ago
  10. How would that help? I have rgb leds installed in the back of my monitors already
  11. The topic says it all. My eyes have always been weak. I'm a student in high school and I game a lot and do lots of work for school. I also have a double monitor setup going and I'd like to find some ways to conserve eye vision and prevent strain. Lots of times after gaming my right eye is always red (my right eye is significantly weaker than left). Also, I do sit a reasonable distance away from my monitors and I do wear my prescription glasses. Also, take note that I am not willing to use programs such as f.lux because I don't want my monitors to have a dumb yellow tint so other people can see it. I'd like to find an alternative if possible. Might consider getting gaming glasses but I need just more ideas than that because I don't want to get lasik eye surgery one day, lol. Also advice such as eating certain foods (other than carrots) can be helpful. I just want to keep my vision the way it is or better so I can happily game and do my stuff.
  12. haha I upgraded and I think it's awesome. Especially cortana. You can tell it to sing songs for you, do math calculations and even tell you jokes. Also, the boot time is super fast now after the last update and it's just getting better and better. But yes, if you are like the rest of the world you can wait. I mean the only thing that I think I would reconsider if I didn't upgrade is the fact that updates aren't optional, and the fact that they made microsoft edge super fast and google chrome slow in order to make people stray away from all the google stuff. But yeah, if you really want to upgrade you can do it. I did it and I don't regret it. But you have a year to do it so I wouldn't rush it unless you actually had the money to go back if there were some kind of emergency in the future.
  13. please upgrade to any quad core in the future. Gaming will definitely benefit from it.
  14. Eh. The list looks good if you are only going to play stuff like csgo and tf2. Other than that, I would strongly recommend you to upgrade to a quad core cpu. Doesn't matter which one, but most games nowadays can only run decently with a quad core cpu. Other than that, the rest looks good if you are trying to stay on a strict budget.
  15. Well, not sure what temps you are aiming at but I have a very similar build and I went from stock fans to better fans and I could tell you that in the long run it's not going to make a tremendous amount of difference. However, if you care about sexiness and noise level, I definitely do recommend the evo 212 cpu cooler if you want something that will work a little better than stock and have quieter noise level. But again, I was running stock for a few days just fine. just put in the stock and once u have enough money, get a better fan and just replace it. (in my case, I did not take out my mobo or anything, I just slipped the new cpu fan in. But besides that I wouldn't worry too much about the stock fans for your case since graphics cards usually have fans installed in them anyways and motherboards usually run a lot cooler than cpus and gpus.
  16. Sorry to break it to you man, but 300 euros is definitely cheaping out on a computer. Especially if it's going to run games on it. In this case, I would mainly focus on your cpu and gpu. Not sure to what extent you care about looks but if you are looking for a sexy, cheap, and durable case i would go with the nzxt s340. I just built my first pc too and this case is amazing and high quality for the price. And but yeah, if you are going with that price it's definitely a good idea to go on other sites to look around for good prices. In the end, I'm no expert on computers since I just built my first computer for $1,000 USD. In my case, I was originally going to go with a $750 USD build with AMD specs but in the end I just ended up saving my money and doing more research and in the end I'm super glad I did that because right now im currently on an amazing pc that I can feel proud of and show my family and stuff. Well, sorry for not answering the question too much but just look around pcpartpicker to see where cheap prices are available.
  17. just force install, that's what i did: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
  18. Alrighty, just going to copy and paste my specs and peripherals just so you guys can have an idea of what I'm working with here. So this is my first build. The system works great but averaging an idle temperature of 34-40 degrees celsius. Also, I noticed the temp went up a degree or two once I upgraded to windows 10, but I'm not too concerned about that. I just want a great system that will run at a safe and cool temperature and run the games I want to play. I haven't benchmarked my cpu or graphics card but at the moment I'm only concerned about my cpu since the gpu doesn't even turn on the fans unless I'm playing a demanding game. Okay, now back to the cpu. So when I'm playing gta v my cpu temp is usually between 44-51 and when I play csgo it's usually between 39-47. Are all of these temperatures good and safe? is there anything I have to be worried about? Or do you recommend an upgrade on my fans or something? (currently using evo 212 and two stock fans that come with the nzxt s340 case). Also, if I could get a degree or sort of a 1-10 scale on how safe my computer temperatures are, that would be amazing. Here are my specs: GPU : EVGA GeForce GTX 960 (Superclocked, 4GB) CPU : Intel Core i5 4690k Quad-Core Processor (3.5 Ghz) Mobo : Asus Z97-A Motherboard Ram : Corsair Vengeance 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) HDD : 1TB Western Digital Blue 7200 RPM Case : NZXT S340 Black CPU Fan: Hyper Evo 212 OS : Windows 10 Monitor 1: Asus VX228H 21.5" Monitor Monitor 2: Asus VX228H 21.5" Monitor Keyboard : Corsair K65 RGB Mechanical Keyboard Mouse : Corsair M65 RGB Mouse Headphones : Logitech G390 Other: RGB LEDs
