  1. Hello Everyone, So i'm fiddling around with learning some Django (1.6.5, and py 2.7.6), and have an issue with my templates(?) so in the views.py file for the site, classes which represent simple 'pages' work fine it seems; like a basic 'hello this page is working' set up. However things begin to get a bit strange when i try adding templates. So i created a new folder in the project directory called 'template', in which i've put my html file. so my urls.py currently looks like this: ##### from django.conf.urls import patterns, include, url from django.contrib import admin admin.autodiscover() urlpatterns = patterns('', # Examples: # url(r'^$', 'profit.views.home', name='home'), # url(r'^blog/', include('blog.urls')), url(r'^admin/', include(admin.site.urls)), url(r'^hello/$', 'engine.views.hello'), #engine is the app name url(r'^hello_template/$', 'template.hello_template'), #template is dir. ) ##### MOST* of the time the /hello and /admin pages work. so i try to change my settings.py file to include a 'TEMPLATE_DIR' location, so it knows where to look for a template; but i notice in the tutorial i'm following (presumably Django 1.3) that TEMPLATE_DIR is a pre-existing variable which has been specified in the settings.py file, whereas it doesn't exist in my settings.py file (i guess there have been some changes with Django 1.6) so I added it myself. Now when i try test things; this is where everything goes to pot. Most often the 127.0.0.1:8000/hello page will work - 127.0.0.1:8000/admin or /hello_template/ will not work and present me the following error.. ######## ImportError at /admin/No module named template Request Method: GET Request URL: http://127.0.0.1:8000/admin/ Django Version: 1.6.5 Exception Type: ImportError Exception Value: No module named template Exception Location: /usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/django/utils/importlib.py in import_module, line 40 Python Executable: /usr/bin/python Python Version: 2.7.6 ######### I went and checked out the 'exception location' as described in the above error path, and found nothing that would indicate the problem lied therein... anyone have any ideas regarding this issue? Thanks in advance, H.
  2. Thanks for the replies PC & Deletive Looks like a nuc/brix shant have much trouble driving this puppy then (the older version, the new one hasn't trickled down to Aus yet.. and will likely be prohibitively expensive :'( ) http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=27595&cPath=1094 H
  3. Herro, In lieu of Linus' recent vid on the LG34" curved monitor, I have plans to get myself its predecessor (the non curved one). Additionally, at that point in time i'll also be switching over to a nuc as my main pc (gone are the days of gaimz and fiddling around with content creation). However, I thought i'd check in to see if any one has experience with using a nuc to drive 2560x1080? A cursory search of the interhighways alludes to 2560x1440 being the highest supported resolution, and I'd assume there'd be no issues with skewing the aspect ratio a bit to 21:9, but figured i'd seek the community's wisdom ere i find myself in error. Thanks all, H.
  4. Generally both intel and AMD can hit 100. I've had my i7 870 poke aroaund 90 a few times - but at those temps the CPUs will downclock themselves to protect from over heating.
  5. watching cpu cool reviews on TTL's channel a few years ago (before linus started live streaming in the kitchen of his old house) then i saw a recommended link to another video by some guy named 'Linus' (who does this guy think he is?) who was unboxing/reviewing the same cooler, figured i'd check it out given Linus' video wasn't 2 hours long.
  6. Still camera! and that screen. :3
  7. Hi again Gents, So back in Australia now (sad times. Compared to canada, it certainly disappoints). Thanks all for your suggestions - I managed to do some of them - aquarium at Stanley Park/granville island, etc. Most of the time was spent at the comp i was there for though - relatively positive outcome - came 2nd (beaten by UBC - dam yuu UBC) but happy with how we performed against the Canadian/US/International competiiton. Certainly looking forward to my next opportunity to visit Canada - it's awesome! H.
  8. whoa skylark, that's a long list of suggestions! thanks everyone for the input. I made a scouting venture today to check out places. I made a sort of Tech-ligious pilgrimage across many roads, a bridge and a motor way to the fabled 'NCIX' on West Broadway (I assume the W on this map means 'West') - only to find the place closed. FOILED! I did how ever see Olm8 Linus' face plastered on the front door - smirking mockingly at my error in not first checking the opening hours of the shop prior to walking an hour across the city to get there. Anyway - some thoughts; 1) Canadian women between the ages of 18 - 24 posses nuclear reactors within their bodies; evidenced by their ability to walk around in -1*C weather in naught but yoga pants and tank tops. 2) Humidity appears to be nothing more than an 8 letter H word in this country. 3) I can't understand half of what people say; people can't understand any of what I say. 4) Il y a beacoup personnes qui parler francais ici 5) In vancouver it is ok to place pedestrian foot crossings on ramped entries and exits to an 8 lane motoway. 6) Busses work like trams here?! 7) Cold isn't nice. 8) Dogs are of a generally friendly nature, and will abandon their owners by the waterfront to offer me a stick. A crooked stick. 9) Vancouver is a ghost town on sunday before 11am 10) As per the above point; I still have not found the CBD. Apparently its on Robinson street. Anyway lads - time to plan adventures for the next 2 days.
  9. Hi Gents, So I've just arrived in Vancouver (Holy crap its cold here; arrived from aus), and have a few days to muck around before business. To the Canadian locals; what are some typically 'canadian' things that you'd recommend I try out? (Things I wouldn't necessarily find on tripadvisor; e.g. go eat a 'poutine') Cheers, H.
  10. We pay with Dogecoin.
  11. Thanks - i'll definitely give it a look and see how I go
  12. Gents - (and any of the 4 ladies who may or may not be viewing this) A question best posed to locals of the Vancouver area (*cough linus*) I'm based in Brisbane (Australia) but will be travelling through Vancouver (That place Linus works in) soon - and will have one or two days personal time during the trip to have a look around. One thing of particular interest is finding a shop that has a pretty good range of headphones that actually lets customers try them out - I'd love to get my paws on some AD1000x / DT990 / HD598 / AKG's line up to have a go with and try out (I'm fairly hard pressed to find any of these beauties around metropolitan Brisbane). Additionally - if any of ye Vancouver lads have recommendations for other things to look at while i'm there - please do chip in Also what is Superbowl weekend? (People tell me to look forward to it). Ta, H
  13. For 300 you could easily pick up an 8350 / 4670k and whack a noctua on there; which will probably do just as well as that included 'water cooler'. Even if not a noctua, a Phanteks/Thermalright on there would do well do. Cyber monday's coming up - so might see some nice price cuts on those on amazon.
  14. Though the core of the channel has been unboxings for some years now, I can understand the move to more quality, content heavy productions. If you could do weekly product show cases to replace the little info-snips we get from your unboxings then i'm completely fine with your new direction honestly i don't think all your viewers have the time or leisure to watch ALL of your unboxings at the moment anyway, so it makes sense to address more of your customer base with less content overall.
