  1. If I'm looking to purchase a replacement part to test with, would it be better to get a new power supply or new motherboard?
  2. I'm writing this from a Macbook Air. I've had to resort to Apple.
  3. It all started when I sat down to my desktop and noticed the long-awaited Creator's Update was bestowed upon me by the people of Microsoft. It was late and I began the update. Everything seemed normal. It showed the percent progress and was running smoothly. After a while, I returned to my computer and noticed the computer was running, but there was no output to the monitor. I figured the update was just finishing up and the computer would restart normally. I went to bed and awoke to find the exact same scene as the night before. No signal, but the computer still running. I pressed the power button and nothing happened. I held the power button and turned off the unruly beast. This would mark the beginning of weeks of troubleshooting. Let's just quickly go over the situation. There's no signal from the graphics card across multiple monitors. The BIOS is not displaying. I reset the CMOS and only used one stick of multiple types of RAM. I used another graphics card (GTX 660) in the 980Ti's place. I tried multiple PCIe slots. I installed a different power supply. I unplugged all the drives except a boot drive. I attempted booting from a USB stick. I took the boot drive out of the computer and put it into another computer where it was confirmed working. I also put the 980Ti in this computer, with the boot drive, and reinstalled the graphics card drivers. (And it was all working) An interesting thing to note is that the graphics card was not recognized in the other computer until I reinstalled the drivers. So, to recap, the boot drive and graphics card work together in another computer, but not in the one I'm trying to fix. When I swapped the power supply, I unfortunately was forced to use one CPU power cable running from the possibly broken power supply, but this didn't seem to change anything. I'd say it's not likely to either be related to the CPU, motherboard, or maybe PSU. Does anyone have any suggestions? Heres the list
  4. They will reduce eye strain. Gunnar is a pretty good company. But, I would try installing Flux first.
  5. I agree. I own the Razer Blade Stealth and it's a good laptop for school, but I feel that the core isn't worth it. I still think the MacBook Air is a better laptop as a previous owner. Personally, I would get a desktop and a laptop separately.
  6. If you're looking for aesthetics, I think Kubuntu and Solus are the best.
  7. Audio Technica ATH-M40x plus the Antlion ModMic.
  8. Well I know Cities: Skylines is very affected by how good the CPU is so maybe your GPU has to wait for the CPU to do its thing.
  9. It also looks like this may be a bug in OBS, but it has a solution here https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/game-capture-hook-crashing-games-after-latest-win10-update-3140743.44679/ I found one other person online mention that an unstable overclock caused the crashing in OBS.
  10. I currently own a SAMSUNG Galaxy S6 Edge. BUT, the iPhone 7, assuming there's not some unknown issue with it, appears to be a better offering than anything else Android has to offer. It will most likely perform better due to how suited the software is to the hardware and have more updates. The camera processing Apple does will also most likely yield better photos, even if the OnePlus 3 has better specs. Probably everything about the iPhone will be more streamline and have a better experience.
  11. In OBS Studio, press Help and then press Upload Current Log File. Paste the link somewhere on this thread. I also know that Razer Synapse (Specifically Heatmaps) can mess with OBS's ability to capture the game, and might fuck things up.
  12. The FX-8300 is much cheaper though and probably won't bottleneck most games.
  13. Really the only explanation is a hardware bottleneck somewhere if it's pretty much the exact same. It would be helpful to list the rest of the parts.
  14. I think my partlist will provide more airflow due to the mesh design of the case and extra fans. It also has a 6 core processor which will be good for some video editing and 3D modeling / rendering. I chose the hard drive because I like Western Digital, but if you can find some Hatachi drives, they have the lowest failure rate according to the Backblaze hard drive report. I can alter it if there's anything you want instead.
