  3. ok im in need of some help! My cousins computer has stopped working and since im the resident techie and I have been tasked to fix it and it is not going well. First he wanted me to install a new hard-drive because his old one had failed and he replaced it with an old 80gb hard-drive so I uninstalled the old 80gb hard-drive put the new 1tb hard-drive in and was trying to install a fresh copy of windows on it and it would keep on crashing and restarting and would show a cmos fail page. keep in mind it was crashing and restarting before I installed the new hard-drive so I set the bios to default and cleared the cmos and tried to install windows again. It worked now I have a fresh install of window on the computer and started updating drivers and got a anti-virus program, updated windows and the computer was working fine downloaded steam and lol got some games and this is about 4 to 5 hours later and it crashed again. I ran memtest rams fine no errors ran a stress test on the cpu and gpu no problems and no crashing and about two hours have gone by now and the computer was idle for about 15-20 mins and crashed again. I logged in again and it crashed about a half an hour later and from there it just got worse to the point that you cant even login to the computer so I quit and went to bed. woke up and tried to turn on the computer and I would not start nothing I did would get the computer to start so I plug it in a different socket and it started. I plugged in all the cables and turned it on again windows booted an was able to login got to use it for about 30 mins and it crashed again can anyone help me? pc specs os: windows 7 home premium 64 bit mb: biostar TZ77a LGA1155 cpu: i5-3570 3.40GHz gpu: radeon powercolor hd7870 psu: corsair cx750m ram: patriot gamer 2 X 4gb sticks HHD: WD 1Tb If you need any clarification or information just ask thanks for the help.

  8. I assume by high resolution you mean you want a 1440p monitor right? yes 1440p or 4k if its possible. You'll get amazing colours and viewing angles from that along with a high res! (Although your 970's may start to have issues powering some games at 1440p, just turn down/off AA and you should be okay in most games, and a few other settings if needed.) can i just overclock my GPU if that happens? also can i get a couple more suggestions for monitors in between $450-350 at 4k or 1440p? i might sli my GPU's in the future! thanks in advance for all the help!
  9. yeah refresh rate don't matter as much to me as high resolution so i wouldn't need to overclock the monitor.
  10. im looking for a high resolution 27" or bigger gaming monitor under $400.i like higher resolution over high refresh rate. and no bigger than 30" as my desk wont fit anything bigger. i like rpgs like the witcher and dragon age. i have a Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming GPU can you help me?
  11. i did not know a 970 could handle 1440p or 4k even i was lead to believe that i would have to go with 1080p because of this post : http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/407594-should-i-get-1080p-or-1440p/ it says in there he cant use 1440p without upgrading his GPU also will the frame rates drop below 60fps in like the witcher 3 on 4k or 1440p can anyone tell what the difference is for a tn panel and a isp panel i have been hearing about those alot i was also trying to keep it under $400 thanks for the help.
  12. I have been looking through monitors for the past few days and i cant decide on a monitor. my play style is RPG's like the witcher and dragon age. i would rather have high resolution over high frame rates for my games. it also needs to be a 27" monitor in 1080p for my GTX 970 probably cant handle 1440p. do you guys have any suggestions for what monitor i should get? i would like to keep it under $400.
