  1. I know this is an old thread and I haven't logged on to this forum in a while, but I wanted to follow up on my solution in case anyone is looking to do similar. I bought the Acer G257HU and a 25ft HDMI cord and ran it from closet to desk under the house. It has no problem displaying 1440p and I can now have my PC in the closet and my monitor on the desk!
  2. Displayport length limit is something like 3 meters.
  3. Hi all, I currently have a Dell U2712HM, which does not allow 1440p over HDMI (max 1080p). I'm considering replacing it with the Acer G257HU, which appears to have HDMI port that will do 1440p. I have an unRAID machine in a closet with a GTX 1070 passed through to a virtual machine that I do gaming on. I have a desk over 15 feet away where the LCD would reside. I'd like to run a long HDMI cord to the LCD and get 1440p so I can play games that way. I currently have the LCD in the floor of the closet with a 5ft display port cable; so I'm a closet gamer? I'm having a tough time finding out what the max length of HDMI that would still support 1440p resolution. Any ideas?
  4. Now this is what I'd love to hear more about. I'm currently seeing 60fps max using Steam In-Home Streaming. If I can game directly on the unRAID box from across the house using one of these adapters, I'd be very happy as I can get 100+fps with my GTX 1070. Though one limitation I'm seeing is no 1440p support with any of these HDBaseT adapters. Any ideas?
  5. Finally bumped myself from 50/5 up to 100/10. Got a 24 channel modem that'll definitely support Cox's top tier of 200/20 whenever I feel like bumping up again!
  6. Fiber fiber fiber Cat5 would be fine, but susceptible to interference & lightning Wireless range extenders are junk and you're already dealing with half-duplex with your current setup
