    There's a hack to get PhysX to run on AMD cards. It doesn't damage your FPS too significantly if I remember correctly. That's all I really know. Look around, I think it's on overclock.net

    How would those compare to something like a Titan for compute?

    Somebody asked me to build them a rendering machine and I don't know much about the workstation segment of the industry. The budget is around $1000 for the card, and will mostly be used for OpenGL work from what I've heard. Some suggestions would be really helpful, thanks!

    Both cards are great, but the 7970 will set you back less and is more future proof. I'd go 7970 if I was in your position. I kind of regret going SLI 670's at this point.

    7970 is currently the winner all around. The 680 has it's moments but AMD really got their act together last autumn and released some great drivers.
