my motherboard only has TWO working USB ports. I'd buy one of those USB pcie things but certainly not two

the reason why you'd want multiple is that you've decided to buy everything on Amazon that is USB powered and based

    That seems about right :P

Question: Is there really a point to having that many USB slots other than "because I can?" This is obviously a joke, but at the same time is there actually a reason to add even more than one of those cards to a PC?

EDIT: got rid of the image heavy quote (sorry :P)

No, and even if you managed to find one, the ground pin would be only decorative. There are only two pins on the C7 connector, it does not have a ground pin, so there is no place for a ground pin on the AC side to be connected to. That type of plug is an ungrounded connection by design.

You would only have a ground pin if the device used the C5 connector, which is the grounded version of the C7.

I see. Thanks for the info!

  4. Hey LTT,

Just today I got a new monitor set (Eris E4.5) and when I had finished all the connections and wiring, I noticed a distinctive favor to the left speaker. I figured it was just a loudness unbalance or faulty wiring but after I double-checked my balances and my cables the problem still persisted. I did a balance test online which revealed that the right speaker wasn't just quieter than the left, it was actually a bit muffled. I'm not sure what the problem is, though after inverting lefts and rights I figure it may just be the right speaker (the left-side test on the right speaker was still loud and clear). Do you think I have a faulty unit? I know that the E4.5s have one active and one passive monitor, but I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. Also, I'm using RCA unbalanced inputs if that helps any.

       Thanks in advance,

Yeah it sounds like the LCD has been damaged - best to send it in to Samsung if the warranty is still valid. If it's not then probably find a local repair shop.

Seems like its damaged, Correction on the LCD though, The S6 uses AMOLED so the AMOLED panel is broken

Okay thanks a lot and like I said, I'm no expert on phone screens lol but I'm glad I know this is the issue now. Thanks guys!

One of my relatives dropped his S6 Active from about 8 inches while in an OtterBox, and the same thing happened. His lost the touch ability, so I helped him unlock it by using a USB OTG adapter so we could get his pictures off before getting a replacement.

Oh yikes! Luckily my touchscreen is still working (for now at least), but I'll probably get on backing stuff up. Thank you all again!

  6. Hey LTT. Just this morning I woke up to find my phone screen covered in this black and bluish something that almost completely obstructed the screen. I think the LCD screen might've leaked or something but I'm no expert on things like this (the smudges are below the top screen, and the touchscreen still works fine). Anyone have any idea what the problem is? Thanks a ton in advance!

EDIT: By the way, it was working just fine last night, and it hasn't been dropped or anything since then.

  7. Hey LTT,

I need to repair a broken hard drive, the problem of which being a faulty PCB. I've gotten a replacement and now just need to move over the BIOS chip. Does anyone know of a repair shop that does this sort of thing for a reasonable price or will let me use their heat gun? I don't own any soldering tools myself but if I can't find any well priced locations I can buy some. I live in the US in Texas.

    Thanks for any help,

Sorry for messing up the topic but I am a huge fan of Pokemon and I can't download Pokemon Go in my country. Does anyone know the reason??

So far it's only available in the US, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. Don't worry though, support for other countries is coming soon.

  9. Your English is great!

What kinds of games would you be playing specifically? And what is your upgrading budget? I'd recommend going processor first then RAM in most cases but that may change depending on your answers.

During the Skyrim Special Edition reveal during Bethesda’s E3 2016 showcase, the company announced that Skyrim Special Edition would be launched not only in the UK but worldwide on October 28 2016. In terms of platforms, The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition is going to be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

TES series isn't advancing yet, as instead Bethesda Studios has plans to remaster Skyrim, the fifth installment in the series. The release date is October 28, 2016.

    But wait, there's more!

First of all, in addition to all the new graphical changes that may or may not put it on par with 500 ENBs, they are also allowing community mod support for console versions of the remaster. I don't personally play Skyrim on console, but I'm sure this is incredibly exciting news for any console players of the game.

Secondly, and only for the PC version of the remaster, it will be completely free to anyone who already owns either the Steam Legendary Edition of Skyrim, or all three DLCs with the game (Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn). For consoles or anyone who does not own all the DLC or even Skyrim already, it will officially retail at £49.99 (~$73.89). This includes Skyrim, all DLC, and all the new stuff added in.

I personally am very excited for this and honestly can't wait till it comes out. I think Skyrim could do with a remaster that helps with its graphics without requiring a ton of mods hogging up resources. Discuss what you think about it in the comments! And also check out the official article for anything I might have missed here.

    Just saw this posted somewhere...

Yes, of course all blurays are 2000+ fps xD

Just...what? The human eye is not a camera; it doesn't perceive frames. People need to stop relating it to one. The blu-ray headaches are most likely caused by the blue light radiated from a screen (just like any other kind of display).
