  1. This topic was linked in Jokers review of the monitor, my topic
  2. JJ's Mother is in hospital at the moment, so do not expect a response soon.
  3. You need to look at the ASUS PG27AQ, as the PG279Q is using AU Optronics (ACER) panel. That is why it has such bad backlight bleed, IPS glow and some dead pixels. So you cannot really say the ASUS PG279Q, as it is the panel that is the problem. If you look at the PG27AQ, that monitor is doing well at the moment.
  4. I was just interested, I got two GTX 980ti Lightnings, without overclock it get about 78c (86 percent fan speed) and 62c (64 percent fan speed) after 6 hours gaming, sometimes it goes to 81c (top) I was not sure if this was good or not for Lightnings, got 5 intake fans (BeQuiet SW2, 1000RPM) and 4 exhaust fans. With overclock I get about 82c (top) and 64c (bottom)
  5. I would not get both, they both have many issues, I would look them up, some of them are major issues. I would wait for the ASUS PG348Q or Samsung 21.9 monitor (might be Freesyc) then decide on what you want to buy
  6. Hello What sort of temperatures do you get while gaming in SLI Thanks
  7. Can it get worse or will it stay at the same noise level
  8. Thanks It is so quiet though, is it worth a RMA?
  9. I tried, still not working. Thanks Change the fan of the PSU? Yeah, the cable is not completely straight, however it is not really bent
  10. Yeah, it is basically silent even during idle with ECO mode on, only hear it if you put your ear next to the PSU, just wanted to make sure it was coil whine.
  11. Hello I got a EVGA 1600w T2 and it seems there is coil whine, unsure though. It sounds like an electrical buzz. Sounds like it is near the plug of the PSU. It happens during idle and load. It is a new PSU Thanks
  12. I work in retail however just during weekends (doing a degree) in the UK, come on Intel, do it in the UK as well
  13. For 5120x2160 (4K 21.9) DP 1.3 only supports upto 90hz (not sure if that was with overhead taken out) so really DP 1.4 will be more exciting for those who like 21.9 Also Q4 2016 for 4K 120hz monitors, more like Q3/Q4 2017 (decent consumer versions)
  14. That is actually a 4K 21.9 TV, still not OLED though
  15. That is more like it, however I would not want a 105 inch TV, 50-60 inch is enough for me.
  16. It happens during idle, after gaming and switching SLI on or off. During gaming is fine.
  17. It actually sounds more like ringing, you know when an explosion is close in games, you get the ringing sound, it is like that.
  18. Hello I seem to be experiencing coil whine. It is fine during idle and gaming. However sometimes when you go from gaming to idle, I get coil whine. Also when I turn SLI on or off it produces coil whine during the loading phase. Sometimes the coil whine stays even after the loading phase, then sometimes it stops after the loading phase. It is quite loud as well. Would you recommend a RMA for this problem, I will also need to diagnose what GPU is causing the problem. Thanks
  19. Did you try the Samsung 21.9 monitor, that has had good reviews (I know you do not like Ultra wide though) also what about the new Dell monitor; TN, 144hz, G sync. It is like the ASUS monitor.
  20. I would wait for that information about a new release, as ACER recalled the monitor ages ago, there has been no information from ACER about this "magic fix" so I would not listen. You could have been one of the people who got a decent panel (the small amount) no information on new panels. ACER did not say they were fixing the scan line issue, so the issues still exist. I am being hard on ACER as there are so many issues with the ACER Predator X34
  21. ACER fixed there issues? You need to look again, go look at reviews, they are still terrible. The ACER Predator X34 still have QC issues, the ACER XB271HU has not been out for long. If you look online again, you will find ASUS fixed most of the issues with the PG278Q, however the PG279Q is not fixed, due to AU Optronics. Start looking at customer reviews. Samsung should release a panel by the end of next year (I expect with Freesync) which has better QC than ACER and ASUS.
  22. Not OLED, you are only paying for the 88 inch screen, an OLED would be better and cheaper, that is just a waste of money.
  23. Well "many avoid their brand like the plague" then how comes they are the best seller for gaming monitors?
  24. It can handle it, you will get about 50-60 FPS in most games, so you will not take advantage of 100hz, also at that FPS you will notice the scan line issue. That is one of the many problems with the ACER Predator X34, do not buy that monitor, it has so many problems. Wait for the ASUS PG348Q
