Okay, THIS is ridiculous when you see a full chart like that (source: https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Performance_Analysis/Battlefield_V_RTX_DXR_Raytracing/4.html  ?

If you choose any other ray-tracing setting for the RTX 2080Ti than the DXR Low, it's slower than a GTX 1060 6GB in BF5 which already is faster than both lower-tier RTX models when using any DXR setting. If you use any ray-tracing at all on the 2080Ti, it's still slower than a GTX 1070...

RTX 2070 with RTX features on High or Ultra performs like a GTX 970 that's already limited in performance because of VRAM in this game.

HairWorks V2?

Sooner or later you're gonna hear some jackass say that BF V is an unoptimised piece of crap. I'm just waiting to hear it.

I think the issue here is that the RTX features in Battlefield V, while pretty, aren't really worth the massive performance deficit.

Will it get better after a few years? Probably, but I would keep it off for now.

@Morgan MLGman I think real-time raytracing has it's place, the main problem is probably because BF5 is an unoptimized piece of crap!

    ... oh wait!!

@D13H4RD That's the only difference that Nvidia improved RTX features from HairWorks, because in The Witcher 3 HairWorks not only heavily crippled performance, but also gave the effect of Geralt having "noodle hair". It was bad and ugly.

This time, we still get something bad, but at least it looks nice. Well, it is an improvement but it's not what people had in mind when the entire Nvidia launch conference revolved around ray-tracing...
