  1. Yeah - I haven’t figured out a good solution to do that yet. With my current mounting method I am as far back as I can be. My PCI bracket is making contact with the mother board. It can be done, it just wouldn’t be as clean and could be much less secure the the method I am using. I’ll have to se once I’ve got everything in its final location. Certainly still an option though.
  2. Excellent info - wasn’t sure if these were multi layered or not. I was concerned they might be. I cant mont the card atm - but I think I may be able to modify the radiator. that’ll be the next rabit hole. Chees
  3. This is a Gigabyte GTX 1080TI extreme addition.
  4. Hi All I’m working on a mid to mount my GPU vertical. So for so good, but the tab in front of the SLI bridge is making contact with the radiator at the exhaust. I want to cut it down a bit but am warriors this will damage the card. Any done a mod mod like this before?
  5. Thanks @Sauron That's what I was looking at myself. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't wasting budget on something silly. Cheers
  6. HI all, I want to upgrade my office PCs. We currently have a few power users and their computers are running a bit slow. I was looking at possibly going with AMD for the APUs to handel sketchut files, but I'm not sure what the best way to go is in the current market. They use a lot of Excel and PDF documents. We do construction, so these are large complex PDFs with many layers/pages. We also work with many web pages open at once - 10-15 (Chrome and Firefox) Occasionally we will need to look at the architects CADs in sketch up, which to my knowledge dose not leverage multi-threading. The goal would be to build a system that dosen't need a video card, so I can put that budget twards a better CPU/APU Thanks!
  7. Install lighting behind your monitors. I use IKEA LEDs and change the color depending on the time of day. Warmer colors during the day and purple during the evening. This is especially helpful during evening gaming.
  8. As long is your room isn't 80c air cooling will work fine. You wont get a crazy over clock, but you wont get that with water cooling in a room that hot anyways. Water cooling is still cooled by room air, so it will have the same limitation.
  9. This does depend on whether or not you plan on doing your own over clock imo. The G1 with its superior cooling hardware will give you better "potential" for a custom over clock. If you just plan on set it and forget it, you may be better off with the higher overclock out of the box. Remember though, over clocks are not ever guaranteed, but I still think you will get a better one on the G1. I think the other factor will be how much the temp and sound is a factor in your system. Hotter card means high speed fans and more noise. If you don't have an efficient air system in your case, this will also mean higher speed and louder fans for your case fans as they will have to work harder for exhaust the heat.
  10. Hi all, I have an issue where my computer will shot off about once a week without warning. By this I mean it will act as if the power has cut out, it them powers back on by itself almost instantly and boots back up. Once or twice it shoved me into the bios and asks if I wanted to reset to the default bios or go into the bios. I have reset the bois on the first instance, but the wrecked by raid as raid is off by default. The second time had this issue I simply went into the bios. When I went into the bios everything appears to be the same as how I had set it up, so I saved and exited and it booted normally and there were no issues. The other times it simply booted normally after the it powered down. I have not over clocked any of my components and temperature is no issue. I seldom get over 50c unless I am doing something heavy. I have also replaced the power supply and all of the cables. It does not seem to have a patter as it has happened while web browsing and while in game, so load does not seem to be the issue. It feels truly random. The only thing I can think at this point is that it must be the mother board, but I don't know how I would capture any data to support that. Running windows 8.1 all components are about 2 months old. All drivers are up to date. 11. Can anyone comment on if the Be Quite PSUs? http://www.bequiet.com/en/powersupply
  12. My Corsair RM 650 is totally silent. The fans do not run until there is significant power draw. I have a similar system to yours, and if I ever draw enough power to get the fans running on the PSU, then the GPU fans will be running as well, and will over power the quiet PSU fan. I’m not a computer expert, just shrining my experience with this one product. Not to state the obvious, but the Noctua fans are supposed to be the bees knees for quiet. The case fans in my NZXT are totally quiet, so I haven’t used the Noctuas. Edit: Listed at 26 Db under %100 load (I dont think you should run your PC at 100%) its 10 Db at 50% load and 0Db below that.
  13. MCM is a very accommodating label that will basically give you a free license to use there music in videos and streams as long as you provide a link some where. Many streamers and youtubers have started using MCM music for this reason, on top of the fact that they have a lot of music and its REALY good. MCM embraced internet culture as part of there core values and its one of the many reason they are the best EDM label in the world atm. Short answer; its free, legal (with permissions) and high quality music.
