  1. have a look on your local second hand website. a 8gb stick of basic ddr4 should be able to be picked up for $30 usd and a decent psu (reffer to the psu teir list) should be about the same
  2. having more cores deffinitely is good for streaming and recording, and 16gb of ram is always a good idea. a r7 1700 would be a good plan. A ssd will help system responsiveness and boot times
  3. Usually its overcorrecting for vdroop. Thats not enough to matter
  4. yeah but 3000 even is a hell of a lot faster than 2400
  5. I have a 1700 and can confirm it does in fact like fast ram
  6. that PSU is honestly fine. that slow ram however is likely holding back your cpu and could be causing the stuttering. ryzen really likes 3000+ mhz ram
  7. it sure is, but you will be turning a multi thousand dollar laptop into something no one else would buy. you would be able to sell it and buy a same specced desktop
  8. Few other things I should add. I have tried different drives and also different ram
  9. Hi all, so I recently bought a couple of t3500 dell workstations at an auction for like 10 bucks a piece with no ram or drives ect, and I can get them both to post just fine but for some reason they will not boot. I've tried booting off of a windows USB and also off of a drive that already has windows and it passes post and hangs there with the flashing underscore. I've tried turning off fast boot and making sure that the right boot device is set, and also setting the sata mode to ahci and IDE and it will not boot off either drive. It recognises they are there. Any ideas?
  10. you cant really. afaik there is no way to have two cursors, and having two keyboard would mean that if you pressed a key on one it would be exactly the same as pressing the key on another. there is no way to have two text files each being typed on by different keyboards. you could however run a VM and assign it two usb ports and have a keyboard and mouse just for that
  11. First thing I would do is reset the bios and see if hyperthreading is working at stock clocks. if it is, then slowly ramp back up your OC bit by bit until you hit instability and then wind it back down a notch. what voltage are you at?
  12. multitasking ryzen will win all the way and only get beeten in gaming at very high framerates. in the long run a 1700 would be a muccchhh better bet.
  13. on a scale of 1-10 how cooked are you? im thinking 11. no your cpu cant be upgraded
  14. h81 boards are 1150........................................... a g4560 will not work
  15. sounds pretty dead. you might have to send the disk in for file recovery where they swap the platters into another drive
