  1. unsure what the point of this post is
  2. that's so damn annoying... Been reading info for over an hour and I can't find an answer from HP... Their product page for the notebooks say that they support HPs USB Type-C dock, but you to the Docks product page, and the notebook isn't on the list of supported devices.
  3. I can't work out if the HP EliteBook 840 G4 Notebook has the ability to be charged via the Type C port. Is charging something thats standard as part of the Type C specification? Am I missing something?
  4. https://www.wordfence.com/ these guys are awesome. I use them for all my business' WP sites. Their site cleaning service was fantastic too !
  5. They say Q1.... But I agree that Q2 / Q3 is more realistic given the delays we've already seen
  6. Maybe..... Thought, I'd hold off to see the 3rd party benchmarks for Ryzen personally.
  7. chrome is GPU accelerated. launching it will increase power draw from the PSU. Probably looking at a PSU issue. I had a similar fault around 6 months ago. Corsair RMA is really straight forward.
  8. to answer the core question we need to know what you're going to be using the rig for.
  9. honestly it makes sweet fuck all difference in 99% of situations.
  10. Are you getting any post error codes?
  11. Personally I'd push for the i7, especially for the video encoding / video editting. You'll love those extra cores + threads. On the gaming side of things, you'll hardly see a difference as games really aren't that multithreaded at all on the CPU side of things.
  12. Super weird that you saw saw this behaviour, as a general rule, no it shouldn't make a difference, and if it does, the difference would be that marginal that you wouldn't notice the difference. Did you change any other hardware? Maybe one of your old sticks of RAM were dying or something like that and that's why you were seeing the performance degradation.
