  1. I have been adding RGB into my build. I have Corsair Commander Pro, both RGB channels are being populated by the RGB fans and a RGB back plate. I am in the process of adding some Corsair RGB strips. I connect them to a Lighting Node Pro, and then I connect that to the USB header on the Commander Pro. I can control all of the RGB, except for the RGB strips. What did I do wrong?
  2. Thanks... Makes sense why I haven't been able to find anything like nuts... Time to go digging
  3. My apologies... 240mm https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Liquid-Cooling/iCUE-RGB-PRO-XT-Coolers/p/CW-9060043-WW
  4. I have an Asus ROG x470-F Gaming Motherboard. When I built my system, I put in a Hyper 212 evo. Not, during the installation process, I had to remove the two pre-installed brackets, that are black in color, that are on both sides of the CPU socket. Now, I am looking into switching over to the AIO side. However, I need to reinstall these brackets for the AIO cooler. I have been able to located the brackets and the screws, but I cannot find any kind of way to secure them. I have tried looking up pictures of the back of the motherboard, but the do not seem to exist, I guess they aren't sexy enough. Can anyone inform me how to reconnect the brackets? Am I just SOL?
  5. Apparently, it was just me being an idiot...
  6. I just upgraded my RAM to two kits of 16 gb (32 total) TridentZ Neo. The issue I have is that there is only one stick per channel showing RGB, and only half of the RAM is being detected. I remember there being some settings in the BIOS that I had to change when I got the original set of RAM that I just replaced, but I do not remember what I had to do. This is on a Ryzen system, btw.
  7. I have already ordered the AM4 mounting hardware. Why, might I ask, would you go with the 3700x over the 3800x?
  8. When I upgrade to the 3800x in the near future, should I keep my couple year old AIO or stick with the stock cooler that comes with the CPU? I have not had any issues with the current AIO (Corsair H100i V2 to be exact). Should I expect a ton of difference between the two cooling methods? Heck, I don't even know what the life span of the AIO is. Should I be concerned with the age of the AIO being 2 years old? Just to give a little background on the performance of the AIO... I just ran 3DMark Time Spy, and I can getting temps in the low 80s. Also, I have a i7-4790k oc'ed to 4.8ghz
  9. Thanks for the hand on experience... Also, that is an awesome resource for the motherboards, thanks again
  10. I don't feel like I have a long list of must haves... I currently have a SATA M.2, lond with 3 other drives (1 SSD and 2 HDD). I also currently have a WiFi card, so I would need room for that along with my 2080. I cannot think of anything else that is truly a necessity.
  11. I am looking into upgrading my PC this holiday season. My current rig has an i7-4790k, 32 gbs of DDR3 ram, and RTX 2080. The new Ryzen line, specifically the 3700x and the 3800x, have caught my eyes since launch. Now, looking at the options of motherboards, I am trying to decide if the X570 platform is worth the extra money, or if X470 will work for me. Is the extra speed in teh PCIe Gen 4 necessary? I remember a reviewer state that if you didn't know if you need PCIe Gen 4, you probably don't, and I think I fall in this category. To give you an idea of the cost savings that I am looking at: At my local store, I can get an Asus Prime X570-Pro for about $250, where as I can get the Asus Prime X470-Pro for $125. Is there really that much of a difference?
  12. I have been using a 3rd party XB1 controller for PC gaming over the past few years. However, the cable is starting to fray, and I would like to replace it. I have noticed that there are two ferrite beads located on the cable, one near each end of the cable. I understand that these are pretty important to cut down interference with the cable. I don't know much more than that. When replacing the cable, can I just purchase the cable and add the beads onto it myself? Are there certain types of ferrite beads? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
  13. I recently splurged and bought a Asus Strix RTX 2080 OC for myself for Christmas. This card replaced a Strix 1070 I've had since launch. However, I've had random flickering ever since I made the upgrade. They usually are about 1 second in length, and repeat every 5 minutes or so. I did a little research, and I have done everything that I have seen. This include to make sure to use DDU to uninstall the old drivers, I went back a few drivers to see if it was an issue with the newest (I think I installed 416.94), I tried changing my refresh rate on my monitor (my monitor is a Pixio PX227 144htz 1440p monitor). I've noticed that when I play games on my PS4 that are connected to the same monitor, I do not get the flickering. I think I have narrowed it down to a DP cable, or a problem with windows. I really don't want to spend the time and reset windows, so I hope it is just a cheap run to Microcenter. Any help would be appreciated.
