It is sitting on their test bench in the kitchen room and its keys are all grey except for some which are orange (I think I've seen a similar one but some other color instead of orange). Insight would be appreciated, I looked for a little bit on the forums but couldn't find anything.

With a little patience and guidance (from you? ) he can put a pc together no problem really, 65% of the joy is building it if you ask me. If he is the kinda guy that can't be arsed to do that "much" which isn't really anything, just build it for him and be the best friend in the world.

If you are planning on 1080p gaming then yes, the 280x handles 1080p really well.

970, 290x. Even though my Gigabyte 280x is pretty close surprisingly.

Shoulder bags are plain torture on daily basis on your shoulder, backpacks are definitely the way to go.

Looks okay for the stuff you want to carry, have you used bags like that before though? There's nothing to loose so why not wait a month? Price drops and new cards are always nice when you are in the market for a new GPU, especially when they are right around the corner.

Wait a little while longer until AMD's new 3xx series come out ina month or two, more options+slight price drops. My Gigabyte R9 280x is a fucking BOSS, really. It pulls off 1080p gaming on ultra without much fuss. To summarize, wait for the 3xx series and pick a single GPU.

SSD for fast booting, if you have a large enough SSD games will run better on it too.
