Ok first I need to do a bit of clarification. I played Arkham Asylum on PS3 ages ago in 2009 and went half way. The Poison Ivy Mission was so boring.(The one where you destroy plants)(Not really a spoiler). I just gave up and played Uncharted 2. I finished Arkham City back in 2011 , enjoyed it more than Asylum. Strangely , because of Cat woman , I find her combat to be superior to Batman . Faster , and honestly more challenging. The game was pretty good , I actually finished it. I'm trying to get through Arkham Origins. But I have this weird monotonous feeling. I mean I'm supposed to be in Gotham but the streets are so dead for an open world game. TL:DR , is there anything plot-significant that happens in Origins that really really adds to the Lore in preparation for Arkham Knight?(No spoilers PLEASE).

I agree with the whole Pre-order DLC bullshit , it really rubs me the wrong way. I'm just curious at the notion of how many people recently seem to associate the problems of modern gaming with pre-ordering.

Did I also not mention Publishers doing shady shit like Rockstar making Grand Theft Auto V costing essentially the same during the 'sale'.

I know my post is extremely long but over the course of lets say the 10 games I buy per year I save about 70-80$ sometimes by preordering.

I see this come up a lot of I find it quite fascinating. Everytime an unoptimized game (Assassin's Creed : Unity) is brought up , or a game that was released as a buggy mess (Halo : Master Chief Collection). There will always be a group of people saying , if you stopped preordering games none of this would have happened. Whether this opinion is right or wrong , I know many people who support this opinion would say there is absolutely no reason to preorder games , since well you can get the game digitally and never have to worry about stock. That is true , I mean digital distribution at least on the PC gaming side of things is so ubiquitous that preordering is not necessary , although sometimes preordering can be good.(I don't mean this in a good way) I'm the type of guy that loves to play a game Day one, I hate spoilers so experiencing the game without the collective internet possibly spoiling anything for me is essential. If a game has a developer I trust (Naughty Dog) , this list is dying out so I might never preorder games later in my life. But as someone that games on both Console and PC , I like shiny things , the benefit of consoles is that you often get collector's edition. If you didn't preorder the Witcher 3 's Collector's Edition chances are you won't get a chance to get it , even worse Metal Gear Solid V on PC doesn't even have a Collector's Edition. The real caveat though is the developer's ability to change the price. One good instance is what we can see from the steam sale, Rockstar Essentially made Grand Theft Auto V cost the same even during the sale. Some Developers also jack up the price of the game after launch - this happened to Dead or Alive 5 on PC. Immediately after the game launched , the price increased by 5$. Right now the price of Batman: Arkham Knight is 81$ for me including the season pass. Which is roughly about $60 USD. It will increase to $70 USD on after it Launches. Paying extra just because I didn't preorder feels like I am giving the company more money for the game I would have picked up on Day 1 anyways. I feel suckered in but I really have no choice sometimes.What are your thoughts on Preordering ? I only made the comment about Taste is the under appreciation of a fantastic story. Its hard to recommend the games to new comers for a variety of reasons , the story is pretty weird but ridiculously epic and great. To truly appreciate it , you have to sit through 50+hrs of cutscenes its crazy. Worth it though. As for not liking Stealth Games. I can understand why you don't care for the Series if all you played was 1 and 3 . Those games were made long ago and they are ridiculously hard to control compared to modern games(which is what makes watching speedruns of them so mesmerizing). Metal Gear Solid 4 is when Kojima changed up the control scheme to play more like a shooter . The aim and shoot controls more closely resemble 3rd person shooters of today and you can mow your way through the game. Peace Walker introduced basebuilding , calling in supplies , recruiting troops. To say that Metal Gear Solid V is a Stealth game is really selling it short. I'd argue that its classification is more of an Open-world Mission Action-Stealth Adventure with a crazy Narrative behind it. You can drive Mechs and shoot people . Call in Bomb strikes . Have an AI partner that snipes while you fight in close combat against the enemy. Half the game is about recruiting and base building. Its really quite revolutionary.

If you played the games MGS > MGS 2 > MGS 3 > MGS Portable Ops >MGS Peace Walker > MGS 4. And still don't give a fuck about MGS , you have 0 taste. I doubt most people here have played most of the MGS games.

I'm not talking about DLC , I'm talking about which game would literally be the Must play game this year that you could 'almost' ignore all other games.

My Thoughts Grand Theft Auto V- Rockstar did a pretty good job. The Witcher 3 - CD Projekt still needs about 6-9 patches. Fallout 4 - Bethesda will release a few patches and modders will fix the game as they did with Skyrim. Metal Gear Solid V : The Phantom Pain for both. I'm curious what you guys think since Kojima Productions did a surprisingly good job , Running Ground Zeroes on PC was pretty good for me. If you haven't played any of the Metal Gear Solid Games though , don't start with The Phantom Pain. You'll be asking wait What!?! half the time and won't understand any of the plot.

I'm not trying to downplay other games , Metal Gear Solid V is going to my GOTY this year. Its going to have pretty good character models and I'm sure it will be well optimised for PC and PS4 considering it can run on Last-gen Systems and it is a stunner. I'm just really annoyed that Nothing I seen so far pushes the boundaries of what PCs are capable of like what Naughty Dog is doing trying to push the power of outdated hardware with a Laptop CPU.

FACEPALM . LA NOIRE has that last-gen plastic feel to it its character models. You can even see the bloody polygons on the edges on Psycho's head , and honestly If someone showed you this . http://i.imgur.com/PUuixSa.jpg You would have believed it was CGI for just a moment. You can't say the same for Crysis 3 . There is something 'Off'. Honestly , the fact that you threw in LA Noire makes me face palm so hard. It does have sort of amazing facial animation due to the motion capture tech but at the same time , the characters move very unnaturally . It is as if the head is disjointed from the rest of the body. Look at how Nathan Drake animates. When something looks like it can Rival Cinematics from Blur Studios , please don't throw in any game model pre-2015. I mean seriously, doing that is like saying I've been playing with Character models looking close to CGI whether it be cutscenes or gameplay and I don't think that has happened.

Uncharted 2 and 3. 1 is Optional but very nice. Mass Effect 1-3 , 1 has super dated gunplay. Skip the last 5 minutes of the Ending of 3. Just do it. If you want to start the MGS Series , Play it in this Order . MGS 1 >MGS 2 > MGS 3 > MGS Portable Ops > MGS Peace Walker > MGS 4 > MGS Ground Zeroes . THEN WAIT IN ANTICIPATION FOR GOTY 2015 . You are saying they downgraded the game? those were PRERENDERED CUTSCENES in Uncharted 3 , they changed the Time of Day. Above is GAMESCOM FOOTAGE. Even then Nathan Drake at 1:00 looks better than Luke. And that is with a whole level rendered and no Loading screens(Standard for Naughty Dog). When this game comes out I'm bookmarking this and I'll eat my words if we have something as good or better on PC in terms of facial detail and character models and animation.

It looks good but We've seen maybe less than 30seconds of gameplay footage , mostly 'in-engine'.

Uncharted 4 was in-game , they even had the Live demo fail on purpose to show you it was in-game . Unless you are talking about Xbox stuff or stuff that will eventually come to PC . Then I agree.

Spend money on a PC and a Xbone to play a game on PC at 900p/30FPS LOL.
