    Upgraded to the 980 given it's somewhat i your budget.
     
    For gaming, 4 core/thread is best within the intel line thus far. Anymore won't benefit, and dual core (HT or not) will bottleneck the GPU. There's no need for HT with the 4790k unless you're doing some productivity tasks.
