  1. Yes, g-sync is on from the panels menu. Looked up fullscreen optimization and switching it on or off doesn't seem to have any kind of effect. There is no option to force g-sync to a specific application only to either use it or use fixed framerate
  2. Yes, V-sync is disabled in game as well. I know it should work but it doesn't. I even checked that i have the latest driver.
  3. Yes i checked it and G-sync is enabled for both, windowed and full screen as i replied to you already.
  4. G-sync is enabled for both windowed and full screen and the game has been limited under 100fps and still tears. You're saying G-sync shouldn't eliminate screen tearing in the first place? Either v-sync or tear?
  5. Hello. I've been wondering lately about why i'm getting quite excessive screen tearing even with a G-sync monitor. First i checked that my monitors refresh rate was overclocked to the maximum of 100hz and that g-sync was enabled both from the monitor and from the nvidia control panel and they were. I am aware that g-sync only works from 30fps up to the monitors maximum refresh rate and i have made sure that the fps has been limited to 99fps when ever it has been possible to limit frame rates, if limiting was not possible i just increased graphical settings until i got under 100fps. I am 100% sure g-sync worked in the autumn of 2016 when i bought this monitor and somewhere along the way it has stopped working. So i started googling about this because it doesn't make me feel good that this monitor was quite expensive and now the g-sync doesn't work (despite g-sync indicator saying it's on) and most of the fixes i've found tells me to enable v-sync. I don't understand why because g-sync should be hardware based where gpu and the monitor are speaking with each other about when to refresh the image to the screen thus eliminating screen tearing without added input lag. Enabling v-sync does eliminate screen tearing but it also does it for a 60hz non g-sync monitor and with noticeable input lag. Have i completely misunderstood g-sync that it should work without v-sync? Or is there some setting somewhere i'm missing? Feels a bit pointless to have a g-sync monitor if it doesn't work without v-sync on. Hopefully there is a solution for this. win 10, game bar and dvr disabled acer x34a gtx 1080 (asus) i7 8700k 32bg ram samsung 960evo
  6. Used DDU and installed the drivers again. No change. According to Nvidia forums, i'm not the only one with this so hopefully there's gonna be a fix soon and my problem is very small compared to others who get BSODs and game crashes after the update. Even if the card doesn't want to idle, games and everything still work normally and i couldn't see any difference in frame rates either so i don't think i wanna spend any more time trying to fix something that i might not even be able to fix. And i can unplug the tv and after that there's no problems at all. edit: fixed a typo
  7. Yes you got it close enough i wanted to find the cause first before i start doing anything and usually starting to unplug everything that's not necessary helps troubleshooting. In the past when i had problems with drivers, downloading them from the website instead of using geforce experience has fixed the problem so i'll try that.
  8. Nope my main monitor is 60hz like my tv and like i said: it's been working before the update. Yes i have the Asus Strix one and the fans turn off when not in load but i have never checked in which temp they go on but in this temperature the fans are at 550-570rpm
I have had my TV and my main monitor cloned and when i disconnect the tv, the gpu goes to idle normally. I have had the tv connected for a long time before this driver update so i guess there might be something with the drivers. I also have secondary monitor but with it the card functions normally and goes to idle when there's no load.
  10. On putsattu eikä ollu likanen ennen putsaustakaan. Ja vaikka olisiki pölynen ni ei kellojen pitäs silti nousta melkein maksimiin ilman mitään kuormaa.
  11. Updated to 368.69 couple hours ago and now my gpu won't idle. It doesn't do it's max available clock speed but instead hovers at 963MHz and temperatures are at steady 59-63 C. Nothing else has changed but the driver and yes, i have restarted my pc, didn't help. Anyone else got this problem?
  12. Rig name: Whatever win10 istaller named it CPU: Intel i7 3770K 3.5GHz OC:d to 3.9GHz GPU: Asus gtx 980 ti OC:d to 1406MHz 2x8 GB DDR3 1600MHz Worked fine
  13. It's been now quite many days without any problems so i guess it's safe to say that installing drivers from their manufacturers worked. Thanks for the help guys
  14. I have now updated all the drivers from their manufacturers websites. I removed the wifi card and the sound card in case PCIe lanes had anything to do with anything (not sure though) because of the GPU that might be bit overkill related to the cpu and the motherboard and also to ease the PSU (though i don't know how much the wifi card and the sound card consume power). So i only have the GPU, SSD and 2 HDD's connected along with cpu and memories ofc. I did not update BIOS because of all the horror stories i've heard about it and i feel that i'm not that experienced user at this point so i'm going to postpone if nothing else works. I did run memtest86 and i let it do all 4 passes which took 10 hours to complete and it didn't detect any single errors so i don't know if it was waste of time or a good thing I guess only thing to do now is to use the pc and see if it behaves or not.
  15. Nope, don't have suitable one lying around. I could ask around though. I would like to upgrade my psu but i would also like to find out the problem first. After i installed the windows and got on the desktop for the first time, there was a series of automated updates, just can't remember which ones they were... I did, however use the CD that was provided with the motherboard and installed LAN, Chipset, on board intel graphics and on board audio drivers. I also used the provided CD's for the WIFI card and for the asus xonar DG sound card. The GPU drivers i also got straight from nvidia website. Can't remember what else was there... But i will go through all the drivers again and update everything from manufacturer. Thanks for these
