Every time I try to connect my bluetooth headphones (Sony MDR-XB950BT) to my computer, I only get the "hands-free audio" which gives horrific audio quality and not the full capabilities of my headphones. I used to be able to get the full range but due to some driver issue I only get that. I checked device manager and found that the Microsoft Bluetooth A2DP device was giving an error with Code 52 and that should be the source of my error. So I tried to reinstall my bluetooth drivers (I use the built in bluetooth from my motherboard, Gigabyte B450 I AORUS PRO WIFI) and even after going through every version Gigabyte had to offer, I still get the error. Is there anything I could do from here? Basic Specs - Motherboard - Gigabyte B450 I AORUS PRO WIFI (Latest BIOS) CPU - AMD R5 2600X

It's loud, but I even tried furmark and I didn't hear any coil whine.
-
I saw that thread before asking and it seemed like it had to do with a different problem. They were talking about loads in games and how high framerates would give them coil whine. However, I tried doing exactly what the OP in that thread was doing and I did not hear the same coil whine. In games with high framerates, this just would not happen, but in benchmarks like Cinebench R15 or when I'm rendering in Blender, the coil whine happens. But since it seems unfixable unless I take a chance and maybe an RMA will fix it, I guess I can't do anything. Thanks.

While running intense loads on my system (specifically CPU intensive ones), I hear a loud coil whine-like noise coming from my motherboard. I made sure that it wasn't my GPU because during GPU stress tests it doesn't happen, and I made sure that my power supply doesn't make that noise by isolating the power supply from the case. Is there anything that I can do to fix it or is there something wrong and I need to RMA? Enabling Precision Boost Overdrive does nothing
t895 replied to t895's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
It seems like it, and I'm not gonna try and do individual core overclocks. But It seems like the VCORE voltage is basically EDC because ever since I increased it in the bios, the EDC % in Ryzen Master goes over 100%. So I think that's the best I'm gonna get. I think that's as far as I'm gonna go with my CPU though. Thank you for all the help! -

I've been trying overclocking for the past hour actually and I found a couple interesting things. I haven't found any of the settings you mentioned (PPT, TDC, and EDC), but when I only increased the voltage, performance increased without needing to increase my frequency. 1.35V on VCORE is what got me the best advantage. However, when I changed the multiplier to reach 4.2Ghz on the same voltage, my computer would crash with no BSOD. I even tried bumping the voltage further and I got the same results. Any idea what is happening? -

I checked every menu in my bios and nothing else mentioned XFR or PBO. This is all there was to the PBO screen. -

Yeah I'm on the latest for both. So I just have a power bottleneck from my motherboard? -

My PPT TDC and EDC only go up to 128, 80, and 125 in Ryzen Master respectively -

It's very basic, I only have options for Auto, Enabled, or Disabled. By default Auto is on but I tried disabled just now to make sure that it didn't have PBO on and I didn't notice. However, even that didn't lower my scores. -

Thank you for the advice on the power plan, but I tried looking into why cooling could be a problem. I turned all of my fans to 100% and tried to check if there would at least be a tiny difference. However, even then, my scores did not change and my processor only got up to 70C. Is that not low enough? -
I've tried enabling PBO in my motherboard BIOS and in Ryzen Master and no matter what I do, performance numbers barely change. Even with the AMD Ryzen power plan enabled, very little difference is made. Is there something I'm doing wrong or? Dust removing ideas? Compressor, Airbrush ect...leaf blower lol..j/k
t895 replied to Kickflapper's topic in Cooling
I use a leaf blower, but remember to remove the fans to clean them manually with a cloth or something. If you run it with the fans in it, you run the risk of wearing out the bearings on the fans. -
Mint seems the easiest to use for me because it requires the least to set up imo
