  1. updated op with more relevant info
  2. I was thinking about doing something similar tbh. I don't necessarily need a system asap but right now my main computer is a mac and only has a rx570 so it would be nice to have something bootable when the 3080 arrives
  3. Budget (including currency): $2000 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Honestly nothing that explicitly requires this much horsepower, I just game on a 4k 120hz oled screen and want something to drive that. Other details: So, like everybody else on planet Earth I'm planning on grabbing a 3080 when they come out, I have several friends who are going to try and camp vendor sites to snag me an FE card on launch day. I've already made up my mind to build a SFF system and grabbed a B550 board and 650w sfx power supply. Being that I'm constrained to a small case and a psu that's 100w less than recommended spec, I want to keep my cpu down to a <100w part so that I have at least a little overclocking headroom, which is why going AMD is a no-brainer. Here's a tentative part list I put together(MB and psu already purchased). Should I wait for Zen 3 given my constraints? Seems like the ipc and clock speed bumps would be felt more on the low end but I'm not sure. Update: Changed my psu order because I found an 800w for sale at a price that wasn't repulsive. Still planning on going AMD so I kept the board, also ordered a different case as the one I chose previously is out of stock worldwide. Any suggestions for the build? Might go with a nicer cpu now..
  4. Vista's feature set and ux were way ahead of their time. 8.1 was extremely fast and was the simplest desktop computer experience I've ever had, also beautifully transitioned from tablet to laptop to desktop on the right machine.
  5. The engineering that went into the system is nothing short of amazing. It would be an awesome little gaming machine for me
  6. Duct tape like 3 PS4s together for the most cinematic experience ever.
  7. To boycott the practice of locking away game content to give """""exclusive content""""" to preorderers.
  8. Just buy the parts used in scrapyard wars 2
  9. Well if you do professional design work you may want to look at getting something with a true 10-bit lookup table and getting it properly calibrated if you can't do it yourself.
  10. If $100 is really all you had I don't think anyone but the absolute most deluded of pc gamers would even attempt to judge you for it. Also remember, at the end of the day all that matters is having a good experience with gaming.
